Whenever in doubt just…

Whenever in doubt just search "Michigan Lacrosse Twitter." The admin updates it after every goal from either side and the tweets will come up on google even if you don't have twitter.

Well, until we can…

Well, until we can continuously compete with and beat Maryland, Hopkins, and Penn State on a regular yearly basis, we are a very pro conference tournament program.

Taking a note out of the…

Taking a note out of the hockey team's book not keeping their foot on the gas. Went from what seemed like a guaranteed win to heart palpitations in the final 3 minutes, as is more on brand with my usual Michigan athletics viewing experiences.

Our OG and savior, the…

Our OG and savior, the godfather himself coach John Paul talks about it all the time on his twitter how the season should start much later. It's a spring sport, plain and simple. Yet a bunch of teams play the first half of the season with snow still on the ground. Starting in February is ridiculous.

It's hard to criticize him…

It's hard to criticize him because he's been dominating at the faceoff X, but what's the deal with Wietfeldt winning the faceoff, carrying it into the offensive zone, and then doing these like side-arm underhand dump passes to get rid of it. I count I think three times now where's done it and it's either a bad pass that ends up as a GB that Ohio State picks up, or an Ohio State d man flat out intercepts it. Those are turnovers, plain and simple, and I've been surprised at how these guys on the broadcast haven't really commented on it when he does it. Go for the shot or set up the offense, I don't understand these like hot potato have to get rid of it bad passes he's had right after winning it.

No preseason poll had them…

No preseason poll had them being this good, nobody thought they'd be a one seed. It's the complete opposite of MSU basketball starting the season ranked so high and trying to save face in the tournament to make up for letting down expectations. If I'm a senior for State about to have another rematch with Michigan, I'd be thinking about how I was part of something they hadn't done in years. Both Big Ten titles, made the tournament, won a tournament game, won the Duel in the D, and swept my arch rival on their home ice. If I'm their freshman goalie Trey Augustine there'd be even less pressure. I've had this team's number four times this year already and I can come back next year if I want. If I'm a Michigan player, I've got a losing record on the season vs my rival, just lost the Big Ten Tournament title to them, my team has a reputation for blowing leads despite how talented we are, and the national media is saying we should be better given the caliber of guys on our roster.

The only glimmer of hope for…

The only glimmer of hope for me when it comes to the idea of a rematch against them is no Big Ten refs. Aside from that, going 1-5 against them on the season if we lose the rematch would be just fantastic for in-state recruiting momentum (/s). State would also be playing with less to lose, they've already exceeded expectations, can fall back on winning both big ten titles, would have a winning record against us regardless of losing, and have a bright future if Augustine stays (I can't stress it enough how huge it would be for that kid to declare for the league after this season, he is their game changer) and Nightingale at the helm. We on the other hand would be playing with the monkey on our back of going 1-4 against them so far and the pressure of making the Frozen Four to come away from the season with a positive. God dammit I wish I could enjoy watching Michigan hockey, stress level was already at 100 from last night's game and will stay that way if we get past NoDak and they get past WMU. Just beat NoDak first.

Was at the game. Just…

Was at the game. Just phenomenal, worth the price of admission (my ticket was $1) aside from being freezing cold and windy. Stood by some of the guys from last year's team that came back to get honored and receive their rings at halftime, an absolute riot. Yelling "take his head off!" when we were on defense in crunch time, just so fun. Didn't stay to watch the much anticipated coaches' handshake, wanted to beat traffic and also regain feelings in my fingers and ears via car heater. Apparently, the geniuses working the cameras for Big Ten also missed it. Big difference in morale and momentum between losing three in a row and starting Big Ten play with a win.

Quit whining? So I get to…

Quit whining? So I get to let a guy question me and try to drag me through the mud and not have any sort of rebuttal or opportunity to refute him? Just rollover because he went back and screenshotted one of my comments from a post in the fall? Ah he got me! I better just take it!

Jewish Resouce Center at the…

Jewish Resouce Center at the intersection of Hill & Olivia. Johnny Druskinis and a girl are walking back from some tailgates back in the Oxford neighborhood and spray-painted swastikas on the walkway in front of it. Broad daylight, all caught on camera. He wasn't a huge contributor on the team but not a not a great look nonetheless.

As my original post said,…

As my original post said, just rumblings and rumors, and wanted to see if there were actually any legs to it from the couple folks on here who are plugged in and know people. Considering the unfortunate rep of the hockey team culture under Mel and then the JRC incident this fall, was hoping none of it was true, ESPECIALLY as the team heads out to play Minnesota on Saturday. Also tagged the post "hockey" thinking it would only really be seen by people who read that side of the blog, I tend to stick to commenting more than actual posting so I now I've got this cluster f*** on my hands.

So I guess it's either be a…

So I guess it's either be a blue glasses homer and don't ask questions, or get called a lurking MSU/OSU fan? Not allowed to happily offer to refute somebody trying to drag me through the mud? This guy's allowed to question me and I have to sit back and take it? All because I tried to preface my post so people didn't go "You seem suspicious for asking and wanting to discuss such a topic, you're probably an OSU troll trying to get info."

People downvoting this must…

People downvoting this must not be happy we won the first round of the big ten tournament? Would rather have had us get swept by Notre Dame at Yost to fall below 16 in the Pairwise rankings? Are hoping we make the tournament final and then allegations come out the night before?

I'm guessing the people…

I'm guessing the people downvoting this wouldn't pass the audit. :(

All of that searching to…

All of that searching to come up with an MSU course, yet somehow you missed BCOM 250, ya know, the required business communications class for all BBAs. My offer still stands, send me your contact info, privately of course, and I'll get you proof of attendance. What's interesting tho, is as you scrolled through my post history you seemed to have missed some of my more recent ones. What MSU or OSU fan creates an MGoBlog account to talk about Michigan lacrosse and advocate that there should be game recaps similar to the basketball, hockey, and football.

Unfortunately it's a message…

Unfortunately it's a message board where my priority in a comment reply isn't on punctuation and capitalization. Unfortunately, it's a message board where people will read an entire post or comment and all they get out of it is the punctuation and capitalization. Unfortunately, the only two required writing related classes required by the business school were a first-year writing class and business communication 250.

A "run" meaning we've…

A "run" meaning we've already won the first round, and since there are only three rounds in the big ten hockey tournament, one could say that winning the first round constitutes a run.

Ah yes blueheron we've…

Ah yes, blueheron we've interacted before. And yes I did have to preface my post with that because any sort of ask for info or questioning anything bad happening gets a response of "go back to your own board you Ohio State lurker." You certainly seemed worried enough to actually go back and look. So when a person was talking out their ass through blue glasses homerism and questioning me because my join date was "suspicous" (guess nobody was allowed to join during the Stalions shit, only people that have been members for years can partake), I sadly yes had to pull the card that I did indeed go to Michigan. "Invite careful review" lol, I would certainly hope that an audit of MGoBlog membership would show that the majority of people on here did indeed attend Michigan at some point (graduation not required, and sure Dearborn and Flint campuses included). Send hither your contact info Mr. Heron and I'll gladly provide confirmation of attendance.

Saw a cool fun fact that…

Saw a cool fun fact that this is the same field where the team got its first win as a division 1 program in 2012. Almost poetic that the game was a grind and we were behind for a lot of it only to pull it out near the end.

Perfect way to put it. Seems…

Perfect way to put it. Seems like it's never easy. Worst time of the year and yet I watch/listen!

While I'm guessing this is…

While I'm guessing this is true for the midweek games vs average big ten opponents like Rutgers or Illinois, the games I went to on weekends as a student vs Ohio State, MSU, and Indiana were always packed.

If my memory serves me…

If my memory serves me correctly, Michigan has played Marquette twice in Milwaukee. A win in 2022 and a loss in 2019. In either case, this means we have a former player (quite recently) from the varsity squad who should be doing breakdowns of every game (where viewership is actually accessible) just like there is for hockey, football, and basketball. Unless you played for JP in the club days, but if I recall correctly Marquette didn't have a club program before going D1, in that case, you STILL should do game breakdowns!

Was that actually ever an…

Was that actually ever an option? Because by god we'd be a machine right now. Augustine is bar none the difference maker, he's just so good. And Nightingale has turned that program around over night.

The team has vocalized…

The team has vocalized hating the song in past years. White, angsty song.

And those of us that have…

And those of us that have been following your insight since the whole sign scandal started are anxiously waiting for the day when you can reveal your connection.

JJ shouldn't go to the…

JJ shouldn't go to the league. Needs to develop more. IMO there are many times when he panics and doesn't "see" the field. Yes he's made some great thread the needle passes under pressure. Many of them have been into coverage and frankly, lucky. Twice yesterday he should've gotten rid of the ball when he was being chased down for a sack. This was a problem brought up earlier in the season even, with people saying he just needs to throw it "into the blue." I think the single play alone of him throwing to a double-covered Roman instead of running the open lane for an easy 1st down shows this.

Great reference. I also…

Great reference. I also agree with you. The downvotes are from people that seem to think any sort of pessimism, skepticism, or dose of reality should be censored like it's NSFW.

You're not paying attention…

You're not paying attention then because multiple lawyers have "parsed" the rule. Go look at Sopwith's comments from a couple weeks ago. or LLG

Been texting my buddy that’s staff on the team ““We’re cock locked and ready to rock”

I went to Michigan you dunce…

I went to Michigan you dunce. Two degrees. I hate having to play that card like some elitist but jesus christ I told I joined to keep up with what Sopwith posted, like a lot of people have after shit is shared on reddit and twitter and people ask "where can I read this?" I'd bet a lot of people have joined "recently" because this is a humongous story.

I joined to keep up with…

I joined to keep up with what Sopwith was posting because people were screenshotting his shit and sharing to twitter. I'm off twitter till this entire thing comes to a conclusion. I'm in a group chat on there with State people and it's insufferable. He knows stuff and I wanted to go down the rabbit hole. I've got two degrees from Michigan and live an hour from Ann Arbor, but yes I'm an OSU troll! Christ. Any sort of slight reality or pessimism on this site and you're called a troll. What if I started replying to people asking if they actually went to Michigan? Then I'd be the ass right, just like calling someone a troll.

Keep what up lol. You want…

Keep what up lol. You want me to be a blind homer? Ya I'll say the same shit across different posts because we all need to get on the same page. Here, reddit, the subscription sits, everyone reads or hears shit and then rushes to wherever they frequent to talk about and then it becomes a big game of telephone and "where did you hear that?" I follow all the subscription sites, am here, and on reddit. Balas warned about Stalions being at the CMU game being leaked a week before the photos started going around. Also said there would be another piece coming out that isn't sign-related but adds onto the rock pile and looks bad character-wise. That ended up being the staffer story about the dude who was fired. I don't like how he'll just be doom and ominous one night then positive the next morning and repeat. All of those subscription sight people that have insider sources (Sam Webb, Balas, Isaiah Hole, Josh Henschke, Anthony Broome) share things that need to be corroborated. For instance, Henschke just said Stalions wasn't fired but RESIGNED this evening.

You can't just look at the…

You can't just look at the articles, you have to read his posts on the forums on the Wolverine.

Per Balas:

"The Michigan administration met with the Big Ten Friday prepared to fight for head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff, having taken him at his word that he had no knowledge of analyst Connor Stalions' actions involving illegal on-site scouting leading to sign stealing. They were even moving forward on a contract extension for the coach that would have made him the highest paid in the conference.

Sources tell us the Big Ten presented Michigan with "overwhelming evidence" of "a plot so extensive" that, in the words of one at the meeting, "someone should have known." The U-M administration met for some time to discuss the options going forward. As of now, Harbaugh is expected to coach against Purdue tomorrow. But more evidence has continued to mount that would, at the very least, put the extension in doubt.

Per Balas most recent post (so what I'm sharing something from a subscription site, sue me, we're all anxious and want answers and I'm sick of all of these people with "sources" being cagey when they know it's driving an entire fanbase bonkers)

While I don’t think Day…

While I don’t think Day would be stupid enough to use his brother, as that would be just so obvious to track down, his brother’s DEA background, PI experience, and resume make him the perfect candidate to help day find one. Sam Webb doesn’t think Day woudlve used his brother, but the firm is rumored to be located in New Hampshire where Day is from, so it makes sense his brother would call up some people.

While I don’t think Day…

While I don’t think Day would really be that stupid enough to use his own brother’s firm, that’s just way too obvious, his brother’s connections in the DEA and own PI experience make him the perfect candidate to help Day find one.

Off of precedent yes it's…

Off of precedent yes it's important the CFP just shrugged, but people in this thread are saying "If the NCAA approved it why are we being investigated??" Meaning no, not everyone knows that they are two separate entities. After the regular season and conference championships are over and we get to the CFP, we are dealing with a new entity. The way some people are commenting sure doesn't it make it seem like it's "a fact that everyone knows."

Why the hell would stating a…

Why the hell would stating a fact get downvoted? Are we that homer?

Let's please know our facts…

Let's please know our facts and remember that the CFP is a separate entity from the NCAA.

CFP is it's own thing and…

CFP is it's own thing and not under the NCAA

I mean there has been rumors…

I mean there has been rumors about this for a couple days now and it's known that even worse stuff was going to get leaked.

Wasn’t aware of this, so it…

Wasn’t aware of this, so it’s not possible at all they’d be able to get info off his laptop until charges are given? Do we even have any update on what he did? There’s been rumors that the firm investigating him is the one who leaked it, similar to what the FBI has done in other NCAA cases.

You’ll get downvoted but I… You’ll get downvoted but I agree
Possibly…hopefully. We will…

Possibly…hopefully. We will likely find out soon. Sopwith did say this that might be relate:

”One would hope, which is one reason I'm saying less than I know about the details, but unfortunately what I do know also suggests Cpt. Stalions was at a minimum a little sloppy about segregating work/personal texts to different devices. And didn't necessarily follow best practices that would be second nature to someone actually trained in intelligence gathering.”

Stapleton might agree.

Stapleton might agree.

This. This is correct.

This. This is correct.

But we also don't know that…

But we also don't know that. Highly unlikely the NCAA would accept illegally obtained evidence. Could very well be Matt Weiss connected.

Weiss? House is raided, he…

Weiss? House is raided, he gets fired, the bigger story becomes this and Harbaugh. We don't know what happened behind the scenes with all of that anyway.
