Football recruiting and spring practice.

Their Michigan football…

Their Michigan football coverage is not as good as here, I agree. The last two writers they hired (before Nick) were both beat writers from out west who didn't know much about Michigan football, so they focused on covering press conferences and giving surface-level reports / interviews / opinions twice per week. As a hardcore fan, it's not the most satisfying content, but I understand it.

That said, Chris Burke covering the Lions in fantastic. It seems like he writes every day, with detailed roster breakdowns, training camp reports, NFL draft coverage, and more. He's worth the price of admission alone (during football season, at least).

Otherwise, I like the national stuff from Feldman, Mandel, Glazer, Lombardi, etc.

He has the work ethic for it…

He has the work ethic for it, if he goes all in. Coaching is a grind, as we know, and no one grinds harder than Brady.

I agree with the other posters, though, who say it seems unlikely. I see him in more of a front office or advisor role, living the good life outside of football.

My favorite part of the…

My favorite part of the interview, if you watch the whole thing, was when the television in the background went into sleep mode and switched to the Samsung screensaver haha

Yeah, that sounds right.

Yeah, that sounds right.

When it comes to prospects, assuming you can't land a top guy, you just hope you can hit on one mid-tier guy occasionally, and he develops into a quality major leaguer.  And then it's paramount develop your high draft picks. We seem to being doing okay in the latter area, with Mize, etc. And we should have the first pick in 2020. Time will tell when it comes to the guys we traded for, but I'm not seeing much right now.

Yeah, shrug. In general, it…

Yeah, shrug. In general, it seems that Avila has struggled to maximize our trade assets the last few deadlines.

The Athletic wrote a piece about this last week and concluded, "Avila’s history shows a few things: So far, the Tigers haven’t been able to trade for truly elite prospects — something that is harder and harder to do these days — and they also haven’t quite struck gold on second-tier prospects yet, either."

I understand prospects are risky and not enough time has passed to truly evaluate it all. But considering the talent we've traded — Verlander, JD Martinez, Upton — you'd hope to see more promise.

My connection was wireless…

My connection was wireless for both services, mostly from my phone to the television via Chromecast. YouTubeTV definitely performed better in terms of buffering.

A wired connection probably would have improved my Playstation Vue experience, but my fiber line is located in a less-than-deal location within the house for that.

I like YouTubeTV. You get…

I like YouTubeTV. You get all the main ESPN channels, Fox Sports channels, BTN, SEC network, and your local channels. So you get basically get every college football game, within reason. You'll also get the in-market and primetime NFL games.

The user experience and app are high quality. I haven't had issues with picture quality.

The only other service I tried was Playstation Vue, which had a good channel list, but a poor app design and buffering issues.

Danny Amendola, 1-year, $4.5mil, up to $5.75 mil with incentives

Justin Coleman, 4-years, $36mil

Trey Flowers, 5-years, $80-85mil

Jesse James, TBA

We'll see how it works out, but I love that the Lions are going all-in.

Welcome, Micah!

I would have preferred to add DT depth, but this is great news, too.

Welcome, Mike.

Scouts were impressed with his physique, as well.

From an interview with Chris Burke at the Athletic, after Higdon weighed in at 5-9, 203 pounds:

> Burke: "I don’t know if you caught people by surprise or what, but there was a definite reaction when you came out [on the weight-in stage]. Did you notice it?"

> Higdon: "Yeah, there were gasps when I walked out. You just hear all the pens and papers … it was just like awe. You could hear a pin drop."

Good luck to the young man.

Good luck to the young man.

Gary will test off the charts at the Combine. Ideal size, speed, and length at a critical position... we know this. We also know he is a good kid with no off-the-field issues, and he will interview well. I expect him to go in the top 5.

And I think Daniel Jeremiah is very well connected and knows what scouts are saying. Although Josh Jacobs at #5 is a bit puzzling.

Lol and yeah... no way I see Bob Quinn taking a TE at 8. They do need a middle of the field threat, but TE at 8 is a stretch. At least trade down first.

Yeah, it's worth it,…

Yeah, it's worth it, especially because it's so cheap. They are always running 30-50% deals of some sort.

Brendan Quinn is great for basketball. Michigan's football beat writer is mediocre, in my opinion. But he focuses more on reporting and not on analysis, so his content is different than what I'm looking for. But that's more than made up for by writers like Bruce Feldman and Stewart Mandel and others.

Wishing you the best, Ace…

Wishing you the best, Ace. You've got a bright future ahead. Good luck.

Chip Kelly to USC would not

Chip Kelly to USC would not surprise me one bit.

Whoops, 2nd quarter

Ah yeah, fixed. Thanks

Yes, it's terrible. Game

Yes, it's terrible.

Game feed on BTN2Go just came back on for me now. Missed the first 4 minutes of the 2nd quarter. And now it's a good 30 seconds behind my First Row Sports stream.

Almost time

Thanks for your great work

This is much needed in this neighborhood. Glad to hear the MBAs are putting effort toward restoring it.

Yes, I definitely remember

Yes, I definitely remember being critical of him.

And wow, I don't remember him being that swift. That video proves otherwise.

As did Hugh Freeze, with many stops along the way. It can definitely be done.
