So, that is how third…

So, that is how third baseman Day recruits 5 stars at a time when his performance is awful - hit up the alumni to pay his players.

Seriously???

Seriously???

Well said; it is too late…

Well said; it is too late for Manuel, but in his defense (and I normally have no defense for most of what he does) there is no way a major university would indemnify a coach, professor, or anyone else as Harbaugh demanded. Also, once all of his goals at Michigan were achieved, the program restoration to elite level, defeating Ohio State soundly, the BigTen championships, and finally the NCAA championship, what more is there for him to do?  I would imagine the constant whining of the BigTen/NCAA officials, especially when witnessed very little energetic defense from his AD, he knew it was over and planned accordingly.  He doesn't want to be punished for things out of his control, he wants to be wanted, but his job here is done - he knows if he leaves the program is in good hands, hands personally selected and groomed by him, personally.  I believe he wants to climb the next mountain and finish what he started in the NFL.  We should all be thankful for his efforts...oh, and for those chronically complaining about his annual testing of the NFL waters, who are we to critique another man's career?  He has a family to protect and an obligation to explore all possibilities as each of us would do.

I think the "annual drama"…

I think the "annual drama" is a function of not having the full and enthusiastic support of Warde Manuel. This became plainly obvious with Manuel's seeming full support and cooperation of the Big10 fiasco, which is likely the case with the NCAA, and Harbaugh is sick and tired of being badmouthed and, in his eyes, being thrown under the bus, whether now or in the future.  Ono clearly supports Harbaugh and I am amazed he hasn't directed Manuel to get the deal done before all of the recruiting targets, the transfer portal candidates, and our coaches bolt to secure their own futures.  It is absurd this is still going on.

Yes, this season was a huge disappointment, BUT... can anyone name a ranked team this season that played its bowl game with its 3rd string quarterback? Had Speight not gone down vs. Purdue, I doubt the season would have ended with the usual quasi-knowledgeable fans calling for Harbaugh’s head. This is a young team, everyone knew it going into this year, and the program is in good hands. Be patient and Go Blue
