One thing that hasn't been brought up is the fact that in this time we also hired a new defensive coordinator. I am sure he has a different style and a different talent assessment than Durkin. This is evident by the M' Bosse and Uche commitments. Two guys that as far as I can tell never were or not intensely pursued by Durkin. Could it be possible that Brown looked at some of these "commitments" and felt like they did not fit his style of defense? I understand Jim is driving the ship but based on what they are paying Brown I am sure he has been given at least some autonomy to recruit "his players" that he feels he needs to be successful.
I do agree there seems to have been a communication breakdown and this does not explain the Swenson thing but all the other decommitments were on the defensive side of the ball with a new coordinator in charge who did not evaluate or offer these kids.
Sam Webb while not getting into specifics stated we could back date a few of the early enrollee scholarships to last year's class making it possible to get to 30.
I think the coaches are comfortable with the offers they got out there and it's a race to see who gets those remaining spots. Butler was told "no rush" and to take his time before committing. If he doesn't take the offer, we have several corner offers out there. The Staff built a great foundation so far in this class and the staff would be comfortable with whomever signs up from this point. See potential commitments @ the BBQ August 2nd.

Evans has an official visit to Michigan January 23rd. We'll see if he goes on that visit. If so, I would say he's still solid.
Deep Family Roots in Georgia, no reason to fear the wind (traveling to Michigan). BOOM! He's coming!
