Schlissel is not a leader in…

Schlissel is not a leader in the true sense of the word, which is a) incredibly important for our great university in particular and 2) has been clearly underscored during covid.

"If an alien race has been…

"If an alien race has been observing us, it can be presumed that their technology is so advanced that they're already aware whether their cover is about to be blown"

I subscribed to this theory for a while, but after thinking about it one has to consider the alternatives, and I ultimately think that is unlikely.  When you consider the human race on a spectrum, it's a bell curve, some hyper intelligent and talented individuals, many in the middle, and some total bozos.  The same is true for most organizations.  If we're assuming that advanced civilizations exist and have been here, it's probably safe to assume that the "A-team" has been here, or at least some competent form of that civilization.

But consider the alternatives, take an army for example, you have some great soldiers, and you have some people that maybe signed up for a paycheck and are not that committed at all, you might even have deserters.  Soldiers make blunders and leave behind gear and equipment in foreign countries all the time, equipment malfunctions.  Why would we assume another civilization would not have these problems?  Does the other civilization have teenagers?  What if alien Chad took dad's alien lambo out for an intergalactic spin and forgot to turn on the cloaking?

IF aliens have been here it's clear they are incredibly more advanced as a civilization, but that does not mean their civilization does not have idiots or make mistakes, same as ours.

Shut up, football is stupid!

Shut up, football is stupid!

This entire article is…

This entire article is unfortunately total baloney.  Michigan has not succeeded under Harbaugh, at least the way we define success.  There is no amount of hemming, hawing, or rationalizing that will change that.  It is time for a change.  Thanks for your contribution, and goodbye Jim.  I want to see Michigan post a head coaching position with no greater than a 400k starting salary.  We need people who are hungry, not complacent.  If 400k and the UM head coaching job is not enough for you, don't bother to apply!

Funny to hear the dives…

Funny to hear the dives being called out here (a point I agree with).  I was thrashed in the postgame thread for calling out that our interior was getting carved up.

Yes. I have a good amount of…

Yes. I have a good amount of experience with football, including playing on a D1 team. The option is a progression. You know what it's going to be every time.  Dive read, QB keep/pitch read.

Plus, with Army, you know that's almost all they're going to run.  You've got pretty much one job to do against a triple option and with an opponent like Army you know what the job is well in advance of having to actually do it. The middle of the d line was too soft, no matter how you cut it.

Notice I singled the dives out rather than complaining generally or about the QB keeps and pitches. They were continually gashing us up the middle for 4 and 5 yards.  That's not good, even for a triple option team.

Couldn't agree more. …

Couldn't agree more. "Divorced from reality" is the perfect description

We must have been watching a…

We must have been watching a different game.  I did not see a defense that fought "tooth and nail all afternoon." I saw a defense continually get pushed around by a smaller team. Continually giving up 4 yards on runs up the middle on a team that you knew was pretty much only going to run.  It didn't look like they were ready for it at all.

To say there is concern going forward is putting it lightly.

Is anyone else worried about…

Is anyone else worried about Milton transferring?  He seems very eager (and you can't blame him for that).  He's got an absolute cannon and I'd really love to see him bide his time and come in a couple years down the road, but will he stick around that long?

What happened to our depth?…

What happened to our depth? Shit.

Even if Evans is for some reason unable to play, we're still looking at Wilson (who imo had a great season), Turner, and Charbonet.  That's a pretty fantastic stable.

Don't get me wrong, of course I'd like to see Evans get whatever this issue is straightened our and have him back on the field.

Will be interested to hear…

Will be interested to hear some clarification on his reasons for the move.

Really agree and enjoy your writing. The whole thing has become an abomination.

Can't thank you enough for your description of Pat Fitzgerald.  Needed a good laugh today.

I largely agree but disagree…

I largely agree but disagree in that I think the defense is a unit.  If there is a concern there I think it's actually the corners, which were supposed to be a strength.

Oline is the biggest concern area still.  The protection was actually pretty good for Patterson, but they were getting blown off the ball and Higdon had way too many 1 and 2 yard carries as a result. I liked what I saw out of Shea as the game progressed, but he was not comfortable early and it showed.

Still, they gutted out a tough win on the road coming back from down 17. Plenty of work to do as it doesn't get easier from here.

No honorable mention for Ben…

No honorable mention for Ben "Inertia" Mason?

Uh, hey guys, first time…

Uh, hey guys, first time caller long time listener. Sorry for the dumb question but can someone explain the picture of the rock and three people? What's that meant to convey?  Is the joke that the rock isn't rolling?
