My son and I were planning to fly to ATL Friday night, watch the Saturday noon game, and fly back Saturday afternoon/night. Estimated cost, $800.00 (Flight, game tix, hotel, eats and drinks.)
At a minimum, $800 * 5000 fans not attending = $4,000,000 for one bowl!!!!!
U of M sold only 2/3 of their 13,000 ticket allotment.
I read that the tickets were $160.00 each, ok, like a mooo U or blohio game.
The next day, the Freep/Detnews reports that 4 - 7 starters may not play b/c of possible injuries. (Jake Butt)
Why would I want to spend $800+ on a game that may have 4 - 7 players absent?
I could accept 8 teams, probably even up to 16 teams in the playoffs, but if it is kept as it is, 4 teams, then queen N(d)ick and the SEC will ruin all of the other bowl games.
The current bowl system is already a joke after the top 10 bowls.
Maybe it's time for all of the other conferences to set up a playoff w/o the SEC until they follow the rules, just saying...start by playing 9/10 conference games and not playing highschool teams in the 11th/12th week of the season.

2.) Old School Big House picture. I like looking at the old pics; imagining how things where at the time. Wonder how many people attended games. Looks like you could just walk off the street into the stadium. No gates.
They don't give scholarships unless you are under a low income level.
Those of us over $100k income, mortgages, car payments, credit card debt, student loans, etc... get a tuition and rent bill two weeks before the semester starts.
My son had a lower ACT and a 4.08 gpa (30th in his class), played hockey for 10 years (including 4 years high school), was part of the school musicals and choirs. I firmly believe he was accepted, not only for his grades, diversity, and school participation, but also because I have had season football tickets for 28 years when he applied, and threw in $100-$200 to the football team every 3-4 years. The season tickets I believe pushed him over the borderline. He now has a Math Economics degree from U of M. Cousins, aunts, and uncles being accepted did not hurt either.
Also have to think that many freshmen have started at U of M, Rick Leach and Mason Cole come to mind for me.
Why can't 5* Daxton Hill start as freshmen. It is very possible. He starts in his position and the corners get filled by others who have been here for awhile; teaching along the way.
I watched many games before this on tv, but my first in stadium experience vs blohio was my first year of holding season tickets. 1985, Harbaugh to Kolesar for a TD. Michigan offense was in front of where we sit and scored a TD in front of the current student/band section.
2-3 years later, Kolesar had another big catch late in the game vs blohio in blohio stadium.

Sounds like a good thing, and I would like to see it, even if it was every 3 - 4 years,
but which teams/fans from the south would want to travel to play in the northern cities, especially if it was outdoors.
The only indoor fields are:
Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Detroit, Syracuse, Northern Michigan (did I miss any?)...maybe if each hosted 2 - 3 bowl games.

Even though many have quit the program since he has been here, I really think Harbaugh loves to have the 3* push the 4/5* that are a part of the team.
My son received his letter a few years back (this time in 2013) and a packet a few weeks later.
His acceptance letter and diploma are now in nice frames.
U of M also sent a congratulations letter to my wife and I as a nice gesture; still have it.
