Logged in to add to the roll call. THANK YOU Brian!

I've been a devout reader since the early days, probably more than 2 decades. Wow that feels odd to write.

I've been a fan since I can remember, sometime in the 80s. I was lucky enough to only have to apply to one school. We won the championship in 1997 my sophomore year, and I didn't go to the Rose Bowl. It seemed impossibly far away, and equally expensive. My brother figured it out - drove there with his friends and slept in the car most of the way, and found friends to stay with. Well I went to this one. It was magical.

This whole season has been magical, more so in hindsight, while feeling cursed along the way. Michigan Beat Everybody, on and off the field. And Brian helped us all relate to it - putting words to feelings.

Amazing. Thanks again Brian. And Seth and Staff. This blog is special, like our university, and our team.

I'm curious how important…

I'm curious how important the NET is, vs how much other factors actually influence the selection committee. We are 31 in NET when I looked earlier, and that would translate to an 8 seed. I'm somewhat surprised we're still considered a serious bubble team as a 10 or 11.

I think age and experience…

I think age and experience doesn't get talked about enough. Baylor won it all last year, and their top 7 scorers were: Jr, Sr, Jr, So, Jr, So, Sr, Jr. And that doesn't account for redshirts. Similarly, Michigan was relatively old last year. Top 7 Scorers: Fr, So, Sr, Sr, Sr, Sr, Jr.

Super young teams rarely win big, with some Duke exceptions, and wow I did not remember how young Michigan was in 2012-2013 when we went to the finals.

Back in 2019, Matt Painter noted for Brad Underwood to be successful at Illinois he said: "You've got to be able to get old and stay old. That experience really, really helps guys."

He further elaborated:

"If you have a step back or you're just starting (your program) or whatever, it's because you get a good class, and then maybe you don't get quite the class that you want, and then you get another good class, so there's a gap in there. And so I never look at how good a class is in terms of how it gets ranked. I think it's one of the dumbest things ever. And you guys always pay attention to Illinois and beat that drum and 'gotta get a kid from this area, gotta be ranked here' - that stuff doesn't lead to wins. That stuff doesn't lead to production. That doesn't lead to championships. Getting your guys, two or three classes in a row, and them sticking together, caring for each other and playing hard, that's what wins."

Another one. Virginia national champs 2019 top 7 scorers: Jr, So, Jr, Jr, Jr, Jr, Fr.

Experience matters.

I think the point is that…

I think the point is that the portal is as important for roster construction as recruiting, and so roster building and team composition is more fluid. Roster = recruiting + experience/development + portal.

Keto definitely works. I…

Keto definitely works. I lost 35 lbs doing keto from 195 to 160. Unsaturated fats are like nuts and seeds, avocado. I did a bunch of googling before starting it, to figure out diets and stuff. Its sort of hard to get that much % of diet from fat and not overdo the protein.
