This is bullshit. Nkemdiche (sp?) is a really good player, but he's nowhere nearly as versatile or able to affect all 3 phases of the game as Peppers. That's the whole point of the award

Thankfully, the fan vote is just the "17th vote."  We can always hope the "16 journalists and former NFL stars" get it right.  I would also like to know how Nkemdiche is getting so many votes.  I didn't know there were so many Ole Miss fans who care enough to vote or even know about this.

I don't really see how Nkemdiche is even up for this award. He played in 10 games. He didn't play special teams. He had five offensive touches and played in four games on offense. Any of the other three would be more deserving of this award.

Given the pattern, it's pretty clear Ole Miss has a community equally interested/mobilizable as ours, except our voting schedule and theirs are offset. Unless we perfectly time our final surge (difficult, unlikely), the only way Peppers will win this vote is if we recruit more voters.

And don't waste your time pretending you can vote more than once per day per device. If the yellow text above the candidates reads "THANK YOU, WE HAVE ALREADY COUNTED YOUR VOTE. YOU'RE WELCOME TO VOTE ONCE EVERY 24 HOURS" then your subsequent voting attempts were *not* tallied.

I've voted for Peppers a couple times already, and I hope he wins.

That said, can we stop making a new thread for this every day?  We're obsessing over 1/17th of the vote for a minor award.  I'd rather read about just about anything else in the sidebar.

I am sort of amazed how close it is (fluctuating by something like 10-50 +JP votes in the past few minutes). I love it when you get a sense of how strange the process of mobilizing people on the internet is...a parallel microcosm of influence that is either really important or basically meaningless. That said: PEPPERS!

We're down 215 votes as of 4:25. Keeps fluctuating back and forth. I feel like we make a post here and UM twitter has posted links too but they post their links also and we just go back and forth. May really come down to who happens to be on top in the back and forth game when 11:59pm hits tomorrow.
