Wow, Wisky is really terrible at basketball this year

Getting blown out by a bad OSU team at the Kohl Center. Their talent level looks waaaay down this year.

I'd always thought they were punching way above their weight in the past given the dearth of urban centers in the state. Could the bloom be falling off the rose this year?

Considering the 500 miracles they got under Bo Ryan, I'm not shedding any tears. I dare say I actually like it. Just like a couple nights ago when Northwestern lost a game at the buzzer. I enjoyed that. I REALLY enjoyed that.

to the low level hate I reserve for people who choose to play for Duke. He also spent the majority of his playing career chirping at officials and crying like a baby even though he played for the most fellated team in the history of sports. But here is the kicker:

Shut up.

  • Field Hockey (twice)
  • Men's Soccer
  • Men's Cross Country
  • Women's Cross Country
  • Volleyball (twice)

We have a winning record against them across all sports thus far this academic year.

7-4. (OSU has won football, women's soccer, and two hockey games)

While they are playing badly to start the year they did so 2 years ago as well, losing to UW-Milwaukee and narrowly defeated a D3 team but still won the conference. They obviously won't win the conference but speculating that they are "done" is a bit premature. They lost Koenig and Hayes ..... Happ is being exposed as just a role player and the guys who were supposed to step up from previous classes have not. I suspect that will change and their Freshman who are getting more time than expected will help them depth wise this year and obviously accelerate growth for the long term. Its still a basketball school. This year is an anomaly

They live by a formula that is actually high risk in the sense of challenging for B1G titles or more, but it's been successful. At least they departed from the HS scores of 42-32 over the lasat 10+ years. That said, I would expect them to rebound with some solid teams since their formula is replicable if not top tier.

It seems like we're always writing off Wisconsin, only for them to suddenly turn it around and win like 14 of their last 15 games (many involving last-second shots).  We'll have to stay tuned.
