Wolverines in the NFL - non Urbs football thread

WAS a non urbs thread, yet you made it an urbs thread by mentioning him... Well done.
August 10th, 2018 at 12:29 PM ^
Well, now you've made it an Urbs related thread by mentioning him.
August 10th, 2018 at 12:30 PM ^
Yeah I am most interested in Mo Hurst and if Taco really takes off or will just be a decent end. He could be a dominant player.
I mean, I hate the Cowboys but love tacos and Taco so ....

It was nice to see Peppers playing closer to the LOS and not 60 yards deep.
August 10th, 2018 at 12:51 PM ^
Oh come on. You're exaggerating.
It was more like 58 yards deep on average.
August 10th, 2018 at 1:52 PM ^
Speaking of Peppers, I watch this season's Hard Knocks on HBO last night. Jabrill made it into the periphery of one shot from what I could tell. Obvious focus of the first episode was Baker Mayfield. He did look good in practice. Looked like a kid that won the lottery when they showed his contract signing. Jarvis Landry impressed the hell out of me. He's a beast mode receiver with sick one hand catches. Didn't realize he was such a play maker. Came off as a good teammate, too. They showed one of his workouts and there's no way I could handle that level of core exercise. This might be worth following this season. I see the Browns beat the Giants last night, so they are off the 0-16 losing streak.
August 10th, 2018 at 2:50 PM ^
I got the Browns winning the AFC North this year and making it to the AFC Championship game before losing to NE.
August 10th, 2018 at 3:23 PM ^
Browns are my new favorite team. I’m all in. 6-10 is my prediction.
August 10th, 2018 at 7:56 PM ^
My SIL is a Cleveland sports fan, so I'd like to see the Browns win a few for him. Might make up for LeBron's exit.
August 10th, 2018 at 12:38 PM ^
Id like to see Poggi dominate at Fullback for the Pats....
Hurst win Def rookie OTY....heart problems my ass....He's all heart!!
Peppers dominate for the Dawg Pound!
Butt return to form for Denver....
Mason Cole to represent for Arizona.
Jake Ryan to fully recover!
Most importantly Glasgow keep Stafford upright!
August 10th, 2018 at 12:58 PM ^
I feel bad for Jake Ryan. Another one is Ben Gedeon he had a very solid season last year.
August 10th, 2018 at 12:38 PM ^
I just happened to flip to the Ravens vs. Rams game last night. Chris Wormley was playing. That is all.
August 10th, 2018 at 12:49 PM ^
I'm excited to see how the undrafted and lower round guys do this season. Guys like Deveon Smith, Mike McCray, Jeremy Clark, Kyle Kalis, and Eric Magnuson.
August 10th, 2018 at 12:53 PM ^
Mike McCray retired.
August 10th, 2018 at 1:06 PM ^

Jake Butt playing
August 10th, 2018 at 12:49 PM ^
Seriously...
what is with the "Urbz" or "Urbs" thing. I don't get it.
August 10th, 2018 at 12:55 PM ^
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
August 10th, 2018 at 12:55 PM ^
Well you see, sometimes people like to give others what we call "nicknames," which are basically just shortened versions of their real names. We do this for various reasons - it could be for brevity, or it could be as a sign of affection, or sarcasm, etc.
August 10th, 2018 at 12:57 PM ^
Yes, man. I know that. I feel like Urbz is a term of endearment, though. If UM fans endear Meyer, then those folks need help.
August 10th, 2018 at 1:28 PM ^
I'm just being a smartass, Syd.
August 10th, 2018 at 3:01 PM ^
I just hate how "Urbz" sounds.

And here i just logged in to see what the latest recycled news out of central oh o no was today.
August 10th, 2018 at 1:20 PM ^
This is interesting in kind of a depressing way.

Seriously? This is just as bad as another Urban Meyer post......You're in time out
August 10th, 2018 at 3:50 PM ^
108 compared to UM's 65. That is horrific.
August 10th, 2018 at 1:25 PM ^
Kalis started for Washington. I'm not an expert on them, but I think they just started their non-starters. He had at least 2 penalties, a false start and a holding call. Otherwise, he looked fine in a first half that Washington dominated.
August 10th, 2018 at 1:32 PM ^
I don't watch the NFL. But I'm rooting hard for Mo and if he's playing, I'll make an exception.
August 10th, 2018 at 1:44 PM ^
Great thread
August 10th, 2018 at 1:54 PM ^
Seeing Mo dominate the AFC west and seeing if Cleveland can finally figure out how to use Peppers are the two I'm most excited to see.
August 10th, 2018 at 2:14 PM ^
Call me a homer, but I’m really excited to see kerryon johnson. Nothing but positives out of camp (taken with a grain of salt) but they aren’t raving about other players like they are with kerryon. I’m also curious to see if the rams can prove they weren’t a flash in the pan. Big names can only take you so far (see 2014 lions).

Urbs?
August 10th, 2018 at 5:18 PM ^
I'm not replying to this post, just wasn't sure how to add the next message the new site way.
I stopped watching the NFL maybe 5-6 years ago. All pro sports actually. I'll tune into the nfl when the playoffs begin, just watching Brady and the patriots. I'll still watch college anything, when I have the time. Of course I plan my day around UM Football and never miss watching a game.
I seem to get a lot more accomplished since then, most pro athletes remind me big cry babies and it just turned me off of it. But that's just me, we all watch what's important to us at the time.

Nothing. Since I stopped playing fantasy football two years ago, I completely stopped paying attention to the nfl. It feels wonderful and liberating to not care

100 up votes, exactly how I feel.

Schofield is starting on the O Line for the Chargers.
