Wolverines in the NFL - non Urbs football thread

Submitted by KennyHiggins on

Dawn of the NFL preseason has me amped to watch Wolverines in the League.  What developments are you most excited to see?  Two personal favorites:

Brady going for a sixth in his 40s

They say he has a heart problem - the don't know Mo.

Yeah I am most interested in Mo Hurst and if Taco really takes off or will just be a decent end.  He could be a dominant player.

I mean, I hate the Cowboys but love tacos and Taco so ....

Speaking of Peppers, I watch this season's Hard Knocks on HBO last night.  Jabrill made it into the periphery of one shot from what I could tell.  Obvious focus of the first episode was Baker Mayfield.  He did look good in practice.  Looked like a kid that won the lottery when they showed his contract signing.  Jarvis Landry impressed the hell out of me.  He's a beast mode receiver with sick one hand catches.  Didn't realize he was such a play maker.  Came off as a good teammate, too.  They showed one of his workouts and there's no way I could handle that level of core exercise.  This might be worth following this season.  I see the Browns beat the Giants last night, so they are off the 0-16 losing streak.

Id like to see Poggi dominate at Fullback for the Pats....

Hurst win Def rookie OTY....heart problems my ass....He's all heart!!

Peppers dominate for the Dawg Pound!

Butt return to form for Denver....

Mason Cole to represent for Arizona.

Jake Ryan to fully recover!

Most importantly Glasgow keep Stafford upright!

Well you see, sometimes people like to give others what we call "nicknames," which are basically just shortened versions of their real names.  We do this for various reasons - it could be for brevity, or it could be as a sign of affection, or sarcasm, etc.

Kalis started for Washington.  I'm not an expert on them, but I think they just started their non-starters.  He had at least 2 penalties, a false start and a holding call.  Otherwise, he looked fine in a first half that Washington dominated.

Call me a homer, but I’m really excited to see kerryon johnson. Nothing but positives out of camp (taken with a grain of salt) but they aren’t raving about other players like they are with kerryon. I’m also curious to see if the rams can prove they weren’t a flash in the pan. Big names can only take you so far (see 2014 lions).

I'm not replying to this post, just wasn't sure how to add the next message the new site way.

I stopped watching the NFL maybe 5-6 years ago.  All pro sports actually.  I'll tune into the nfl when the playoffs begin, just watching Brady and the patriots.  I'll still watch college anything, when I have the time.  Of course I plan my day around UM Football and never miss watching a game.

I seem to get a lot more accomplished since then, most pro athletes remind me big cry babies and it just turned me off of it.  But that's just me, we all watch what's important to us at the time.

Nothing. Since I stopped playing fantasy football two years ago, I completely stopped paying attention to the nfl. It feels wonderful and liberating to not care
