Will Kerridge and/or Houma Make an NFL Roster?
Mates,
On our way home today my older sons were asking what I thought of Kerridge or Houma's chances of making an NFL roster, and I really had no idea. Providentially when we got home the local paper had a big article on Kerridge on the front page of the sports section. It talked about his pro-day, but gave no specifics on times/speeds, etc, Kerridge listed some teams that had expressed interest, but not much more. We all know the pro game is much different than college, and though I haven't ever counted the number of NFL teams that use full backs, my sense of it is that the percentage is somewhere around 50-60%, thus further lessening the odds of their making a roster.
So the question is: Will either of them make an NFL roster? Also, do any of you have any type of pro-day stats they could share with us about these two.
Happy Sunday.

I think Houma is faster and will make it.
houma is easily at least 5'11

Lions did it last year... so I assume they wont do it this year... but I also wont put it past them...
For his sake, hope he does not get drafted/signed by the Lions. Partriots or Steelers!
Hiouma has an outside shot of being drafted, but more than likely, both will by UFA. I think Hiouma will make a roster at FB, but I kinda doubt Kerridge will (although he will get his shot).
I'm not sure he'll get drafted but he'll definitely get invited to camp. His chances of making a roster improve because he can play special teams, which is imperative for a guy like him.
he is listed in the article at 6' even, 249 lbs, but no stats about speed, vertical, shuttle run, etc.
Kerridge's pro day stats were listed online. He did pretty well...something like a 4.8 and close to 30 reps... but Id have to look it up to give you definite numbers. Try googling it.
4.89 40 and 24 reps for Kerridge on Pro Day

to throw us off suspicion that it's really you?
...be taking you with him to the NFL or will you be left behind on the floor of a barber shop?
Doubtful. NFL teams are using TEs and linemen at fullback more and more instead of using a roster spot of a FB, even if they can play special teams.
I would agree with others - Houma probably moreso than Kerridge if we're talking probabilities, and then as an undrafted free agent most likely. I really would like to see both of them get a shot though, but historically it seems FBs go in the late, late rounds if at all and even then only a few seem to get drafted nowaday.
Its hard to say. Not alot of teams keep a roster spot open for a FB. That said, Houma is a great football player and has a good shot in my opinion. Kerridge is also good and had a nice pro day, so you never know.
but might see them on practice squads first.
should've thought that TTB might have something on these guys.

ISERIOUSLY doubt your sons asked about Kerridge and Houma.
I mean, no one even knows these guys were on the team the last 4 years.
I'd bet Houma gets invited to camp, Kerridge I'm not so sure, but I doubt ether gets drafted. Not a knock on either of them, but FB is just not an important position anymore.

I think they definitly go undrafted. The obsticle is the infrequent use/need of a full back in the NFL. wish them both the best though!
Does Jarrod Wilson get drafted? I think he will be a high-priority UDFA, but I am also selfishly hoping he gets taken late by the Colts, who could really use some depth at free safety.
I think Houma will land and stay in the NFL for at least a few years. He brings a lot of abilities and special team skills as well. Likely not drafted, but he'll find a team that carries a couple FBs and he'll be able to beat out one of them.

He can run the ball, he can block, he can catch the ball, he can cover special teams and he can block for special teams. He was one of the best coverge players UM has ever had. Not sure how many coverage tackles he had in his career, but it's got to be among the most ever. And, the reason he burned his redshirt, was because he was so good on special teams. That says a lot about his work ethic.
