This could be literally anything. But Dillon Tatum is expected to commit sometime in April so it's possible that Tatum could be dropping. Other options are someone like Tyler Morris (Tom Loy is saying that ND is fading fast and considering how big of a ND homer he is, that seems notable), or Myles Pollard or Jaeden Gould. Or it could have nothing to do with commits. But it's the offseason so any news to keep an eye on, especially when it's from our top commit.

That seems a very mature and level headed way to approach this.  Besides, outside of his covid-related takes (some of which were very pointed, yet it seems almost everyone has strong opinions about that topic one way or another), what was so disagreeable about his posts/threads/diaries?

Also, if you had noticed the voting on MGrowOld's reinstatement request about XM it appears that far more of the participating (ie those that vote on threads) board members favored his return than not (nearly 100 upvotes before the thread was removed).

I am not sure what post you are referencing but upvotes are not really a currency. I get you are a fan and that's your choice.  Mature and level headed? Mmmm, okay.  I don't understand the whining that goes on about it.  If you really feel the site will suffer without his takes, his slants, his evolving life story, then you will find a hole in your life.  Many will not miss him and those things.  Everyone will move on eventually and the site will continue and there will likely be no discernible impact outside the intervals of "Remember XM?", "Whatever happened to that farmer guy who started the drinking threads?", etc.

Upvotes are not currency, but are a reasonable gauge of what is popular on the board.  Since the thread by MGro was a request to reinstate XM, it is rational to use the votes as a proxy for board sentiment (since it accounts for both upvotes and downvotes combined).  Thus the differential of those favoring/disfavoring XM's reinstatement (not necessarily his opinions) is ~ +100 in the time that thread was up.

It seems like the subset of board participants that were viscerally opposed to his contributions is the small minority.

I valued his posts on UM and sports-related matters much more than the drinking threads (which I rarely viewed), as well as his highly informative diaries here.

What happened to XM? I always enjoyed his posts and thought he brought a lot to the board, especially as a former varsity athlete and a really interesting career/life path. I gathered that he's a minister and occasionally had some more conservative views, but I found that interesting. I hope he wasn't cancelled for it.

If he is reinstated or not is of no real concern for me.  I will be completely fine without him, however.  But to use a thread with a title, I would assume, that led someone to believe it was a "bring XM back" would result in a majority of those who favor that to the thread.  It really isn't a baseline to make a call to reinstate.  People have been banned for comparable behavior but few belabor it.

In reality, XM is lurking here and posting, more than likely.  That will become evident sooner or later.

A couple of months ago, a friend of mine and I were talking and for some reason Mike Jones came up; and how he had his number in every one of his songs: (281) 330-8004.

So we called it for the heck of it. It is still his number; he actually picked up. Told us to watch for new music to come out soon (he told us the album is going to be called "Where is Mike Jones?").  Years later, it's not a bad marketing idea, I guess....if you like phone calls.

Rivals insider saying its an offensive recruit.  I'm guessing Tyler Morris commits.

Agreed - would be awesome to get some recruiting momentum to bring into the June OV's.

We need some Top 100 players to join this class!

Besides that it would suck, wouldn't it just be appropriately hilarious if there was bad news announced and that's what he was referring to?

Big news guys all of the RB's have entered the portal! lmao

I generally lean towards being positive but it's not even BPONE at this point I feel like the lady manager in Major League where I'm sort of like "yeah...burn...burn it down".

Just to be clear that last part I say in jest. Obviously always want the young lads to succeed and the team to win.
