Will Johnson (‘21 5* DB) crystal ball update

Submitted by Cousin Larry on February 26th, 2021 at 9:21 AM

Will Johnson is announcing this weekend, with a final three of Michigan, OSU, and USC.

As of this morning, 247 insiders for all three schools have lodged their balls for the good guys.

Our first five-star of the cycle!

Aside: I tried to post about this yesterday, but I guess the mods didn’t care my thread title “Johnson Balls.”  Mea culpa.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good (yet incorrect) narrative.

Paye was elite.

Mullings may start this fall, Zinter may start this fall, Eamonn Dennis? May be a miss.

Cornelius Johnson may start this fall, Charles Thomas and Jack Stewart? Whiff.

Luke Schoonmaker may contribute. Tarik Black was always injured. Andrew Stueber has been a starter as has Brad Hawkins.

Kwity Paye and Ben Mason were both GREAT players for their positions.

Those are the NE guys since Paye arrived.

Now go look at the guys from Michigan, it won't be as wide of a margin as you may think.

With 1.2 Million high school football players each year,, someone thats ranked #997 is an ELITE high school football player .

Ben Rolsberger,Antiono Brown.,Kalihl Mack ,Bobby Wagner are just a few PRO BOWL players that werent even ranked in recruiting services

130 D1 schools , so landing any kids in the top 1000 seems good to me and its proven year after year

We gotta keep stacking the Top 200 type players.  2021 class brought in quite a few elite prospects on the offensive side of the ball.  Looks like 2022 will have some star power coming in in the secondary.

Feels like we need a 5 star big time DL recruit.

Yep.  And the 270 lbs, 4.6 - 40 "freaks" all seem to come from the south.

There's probable 4-5 truly elite interior linemen a cycle and you can assume 1 or 2 is going to Bama, and 1 to LSU.

That leaves every other team in the SEC and OSU competing for the last couple guys.

As another poster stated, if we can't pull one of these guys, get some orb shaped Wisconsin type dudes, so at least the rest of the D-line has a chance to make plays as we aren't getting gashed up the middle for 7 yards on basic power runs.

Georgia has been recruiting at a very high level for a few years now. In fact, they had the most talented roster - according to the 2020 Composite - going into the 2020 season.......better than Alabama, OSU and Clemson.  The state of Georgia is currently a HS recruiting powerhouse.

I thought we'd all collectively worked through the Crystal Balls' balls jokes at this point.  I get it though.  It's hard to resist pulling a Johnson/balls joke.
