Who is your biggest sports-related one hit wonder?

Simple question, which player in sports cemented their legacy off of one play, one game, one series, or one season?

David Tyree comes to mind

Timmy Smith from the Redskins in Super Bowl 22 (204 yards)

Donte DiVencezo (f*ck)

Luke Hancock (also f*ck)

Tate Forcier. Had the great game against ND in 09 and then never lived up to his potential. Other flashes of brilliance (winning the 2010 Illinois game where it was TD or bust in the entire second half and OT, thanks to the defense) but then a complete flame out.

Eric Hipple. First start was a 48-17 victory over the Bears in which he threw for 336 yards and 4 TDs. Of course he never matched those numbers again but that didn’t stop the lions from keeping him around for a decade in the hopes he could recreate the magic of that night.

(Sadly, Mark “the Bird” Fidrych was a one-season, Sidd Finch-like one hit wonder whose career was derailed by injury.)

Francisco Cabrera

Hit the game winning hit in 1992 NL Championship series to lead Atlanta over Pittsburgh. Ninth inning, 2 outs. It was his 11th at-bat of the season.

I remember the guy across the hall from me running around the dorm yelling “Who the hell is Francisco Cabrera”. Will never forget his name.

Kris Jenkins from Villanova. Solid 4-year career, but nobody remembers anything other than his GW shot.
