Whisky scoreless last 9+ minutes
In the NIT semifinal, Wisconsin pissed away an 8 point lead, failed to score the last 9+ minutes and lost 56-54 to North Texas.
It was as ugly as it sounds.
Wiscy Tango Foxtrot
The important thing is that without Brad Davison, the entire North Texas team advanced with their balls intact.

They'll be able to tell their grandchildren about it because they'll be able to have children.
Feels like I’ve seen this movie before, but with a more local team.

He was watching because misery loves company.

something like this?
March 29th, 2023 at 12:04 PM ^
I may be crazy, but my entire life I always thought the people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones because someone might throw stones back at them. I never thought that it referred to throwing stones inside your own home and breaking your own home. Have I been misinterpreting this all along?
March 29th, 2023 at 12:09 PM ^
Yes.
March 29th, 2023 at 12:30 PM ^
Me too, then. I don't think it makes sense the other way.
And will somebody please explain to me "you can't win for losing." What the hell does that mean?
March 29th, 2023 at 12:34 PM ^
Clearly, because if you ain't first, you're last.
Take it with a grin of salt.
Unless you're the biggest loser and then "you can win for losing." BTW, it has been reported that basically all of the biggest losers have largely maintained their weight loss which is obviously great for these winners.
I throw stones at people through the windows in my glass house.
What?
March 29th, 2023 at 12:33 PM ^
I agree with your interpretation because why would anyone, living in a house made of any material, ever throw stones while inside their own house? It's about throwing stones at people who might throw them back at you in your glass house. The lesson being, it's ok to throw rocks at people if you live in a non-fragile house.
Clearly my attempt at sarcasm was misplaced. The intention of the saying should be obvious. When your very vulnerable to something, you shouldn't start a conflict where retaliation in kind hurts you a lot worse than it hurts them.
The graphic posted was either another attempt at sarcasm, or someone who didn't understand the saying either.
This is the most University of Michigan discussion ever. 😂
holy crud, no doubt.
glass houses is ultimately a self-reflection on hypocrisy, and in this case at least somewhat self-deprecating.
the provided illustration though, which 100% understood as 'glass houses', was all that came up in the 4 seconds i was willing to put into a search.
I, too, have seen that flick. I can't figure out if it is a comedy, a tragedy, or horror.
And you were watching this because...
I was watching because I had Wiscy +1.5. It was excruciating. They could've made one free throw and lost by a point. Nope, they missed their free throw attempts and lost by 2 because that's the way the universe works.
Big ten basketball is poo poo
Basketball is still going on?
I’m drinking Blackened whisky
Beat Qpac!
🎶 What’s the ugliest part of your body 🎶
How do you like it GBGW?
I picked up a bottle of the Blackened Cask strength barrel select at Total Wine. Haven't opened it yet.
Beat Qpac🏒🏒🏒
I bought it because it’s a Metallica product. But I keep buying it because I like it.
I wish I could break down the notes of it all but I don’t have the palate. But it tastes sweeter than the other whiskeys I drink, Jack Daniel’s, Crown Royal and others
I hope enjoy it
Beat Qpac and whoever in the championship
Another poster here shared some of his Blackened X Rye with me last year.
It was delicious 😋🥃.
Looking forward to trying it soon 👍.
They did that with us... And we lost to them
Big Tehn!
Bigten has to start recruiting better or at least utilizing the portal better or the results won’t get much better than the last few years.
The problem, as this year's tournament has unequivocally shown, is that the prospect pool has become a quagmire that is, pretty much, a total crap shoot. The basketball talent and IQ these young kids hold is largely indecipherable. The most athletically gifted kids are being made into NBA stars before they learn the nuts and bolts of the game-and this is turning the college game into one hot mess. I do not envy the position even the best of the college coaches are in-even the "blue-bloods" cannot figure this out.

Last year Duke, Gonzaga, UNC, and Kansas were in the final four yet the Blue Bloods can't figure it out? Do you have the memory of a donkey?

I hope the lesson Juwan has learned is that going after a prospect who is NOT ranked 20+ coming out of HS but in the top 50-100 of recruits means that the guy will use his one year to "make himself NBA ready" but only on offense. Selfish play, sluggish on D, just like Jace. It made sense for his son to play for him, but dad needed to tell his son he would make millions more by coming back and developing more skills.
Moussa and Caleb are hardly playing at all, or in the case of Caleb he played 22 minutes for 0 points! I think both guys will be gone from the NBA and in Europe in 2-3 years. Would one more year have made a difference? Ask Trey Burke. Mitch McGary would have been another success story except for his cannabis habits.
Very few guys come out of HS truly ready for the NBA after one year in college. I'd rather the NBA just open the draft back up to HS guys and let a bunch of them find out after 3-4 years that they should have played 2 years in college.
I think you meant to say Jett, not Jace. Jace is the harder working but less talented older brother to Jett.
I saw the replay on Sportscenter. 2 Badgers under the basket, one passed the ball to the other instead of shooting a layup with about 2 seconds left, he mishandled it and they never got a shot off to potentially tie it

Was it after a Howard timeout? #sets
Juwan Howard's gonna catch a lot of heat for this one. Fire Warde!
Yikes, only 13 points in the whole second half. That’s even ugly for Wisconsin
Screw Gard Krappenhoff and Wisconsin. I'm rooting for the Wolverines.
Big ten has a serious lack of athletic players compared other teams in the tournaments. I don’t see other Will Tschettars/Baker/Williams types on these teams. It’s one thing to have a big slow center but you can’t surround him with non athletes.

ohio state and msu have Top 5 classes coming in.
Even rutgers got a Top 100 guy and beat Michigan for Griffiths.
When you consider that they only had an 8 point lead and didn’t score for the final 9 minutes, it’s kinda insane they only lost by 2. Sounds like a hideous game all around.
The biggest thing I’ve noticed watching the tournament is the lack of athleticism in the Big Ten. Teams like UConn look like they’re in a different league athletically.

Teams like Fairleigh Dickinson...is the real damning comparison.
I think FDU had a lot of guard experience on their roster. And, guard play was the difference against Purdue.
Hard to care about the NIT when Michigan was in it. Impossible to care about it now.

Seems like we were knocked out of this tournament weeks ago. When I saw the Wiscy score I thought I was looking at an old update.

Sounds familiar.
