Which Jim Harbaugh will we get on Saturday?

The Jim that lights up the refs when they make a bad call or the one that solemnly nods his head in agreement. The Jim that rips into a player who fumbles or the one that sighs and doesnt address it. The Jim that is running along the sidelines directing his offense on how to run a 2 minute drill or the Jim that looks confused and passive (turtling). The Jim that plays his best players and says tough shit to the 2nd and 3rd stringers who don't get to play many meaningful minutes or the Jim that unnecessarily rotates in guys like Vansumeren and Nordin that arent at the same level as other players right now. We want pre-2017 Harbaugh back!

I’ve never seen him rip into his players on the sideline. Leave that up to BK at ND.

Wouldn't mind seeing him step up the intensity but he is the only coach in all of NCAA football that gets a PF for showing emotion so I guess I can’t blame him for holding back.

I would like the Harbaugh that:

Made the guarantee they would beat Osu when he was playing.

The one that give the speech about Bo pre passing. Can't recall the occasion- but was incredible speech.

The one that give the acceptance speech taking the Mich job.

Confident, charismatic ...& still an athlete Harbaugh.

Be that JH...show them the 97 team v Psu pre-game ...& tell them to kick their fuckin asses all over the field!

That was the greatest game that Michigan has ever played. When Griese hit Woodson on the slant it was fucking ballgame. Beno Cook and Lee Corso had to eat their words that day.

The Jim that lights up the refs when they make a bad call

Since Jim has been counseled about this and we haven't seen it in 2 years, don't hold your breath.

This is a tired take. He may be a bit more reserved than before, but to suggest he's completely lost his passion is dumb. And it shows a lack of attention paid to the games because he has had multiple passionate moments this year.

Running on to the field screaming for a holding call that was blatantly missed last week against Illinois comes to mind.

He was also going after the refs at the same time Gattis was a couple weeks ago during the whole "are Harbaugh and Gattis at each other's necks?" nonsense.

Jim can’t play the game for them I can assure you that him running down the sidelines and ripping off his jacket will have zero impact on the outcome of the game.  What will is if our offensive line blocks, they are disciplined, no stupid penalties, Shea finds his balls in this game and doesn’t fumble them, and the offense actually utilizes the great weapons they have.  That will make or break this game not how Jim is on the sideline.

I think this question is valid actually. I want to see the Jim we saw pre 2017. However, I also want to see a formula that works for him in college. He’s one of the best coaches in football.

When he actually finds that formula, Michigan will be hard to beat.

Ever since Harbaugh became mellow, the team just doesn't get as fired up! Harbaugh and the team needs to get fired up during the whiteout or we won't have a chance.

I'm not sure what happened, but agree with your premise that something changed about Harbaugh after the 2016 OSU game.  I find it hard to believe that he is simply suppressing the animation he showed prior to that game.  At some point, he's got to have gotten frustrated enough that suppression simply won't work (under high enough stress we tend to revert to our base personalities).
