When to buy National Championship tickets?

I know I'm looking ahead, but when would be the best time to buy tickets to the National Championship game? Now? After this weekend? Closer to the actual game?

I'm not talking from experience here, just reinforcing what you probably also think from understanding human nature.

My guess would be whenever the last bit of hope is gone for arrogant OSU fans who will be selling theirs off.

Maybe on Wednesday, especially if Alabama jumps them Tuesday night. Or the day after USC wins on Saturday. Or maybe the day after final CFP selection show.

I would think that, closer to the game, the tickets will be getting more expensive.

Depends how much risk you can stomach. Typically tickets are cheapest the week of the game because people bail for various reasons and want to unload quickly.  I suspect things may be a bit different this year with USC in the field (as of now) and the game in LA.

If you don't want to risk waiting until the week of the game, I would buy between now and Friday night. If USC wins Friday, with the title game being held in LA prices may not do their usual drop after the final selection show.  Maaaaybe USC fans unload a huge # of them if they lose in semis, but then you are competing with buyers who KNOW their team is in the championship.

Don't forget to book a hotel early! Can always cancel if you don't get tickets!

Buy them after other fanbases dump theirs - usually they get desperate and start dumping Wednesday/Thursday (January 4th/5th 2023) before the following Monday (January 9th) national championship game. Prices will remain stubbornly high until the very last moment. And then the bottom falls out and prices drop because people get desperate. It happens very quickly, and at the last moment. This is how it played out for Michigan's BBall National Championship game in San Antonio.

If it is indeed Michigan vs. Georgia, our prospects should be pretty good. We have a huge West Coast alum presence - I am predicting 70% Michigan fans at the game. Georgia travels well, but we have the home advantage.

I booked my flight to LAX yesterday.

In my best cousin Eddie voice. “Hold your wad there fella”. I believe, but we have lots of work to do to get there. Purdues a major pain in any ranked teams ass, TCU may be outmatched but can score loads of points. I like our chances to get there but don’t wanna be the one to jinx it.

While I'm superstitious enough to feel like I'd never want to consider buying anything until Michigan actually confirmed it got there, but I'm with some other posters here. Wait until the matchup has been finalized and wait for fans of the teams that didn't make it to dump their tickets on StubHub.

If you don't want to wait that long, then I'd suggest buying them immediately when they come out, because its likely that the price will only go up from there.
