What would you sacrifice to the football Gods for a win over OSU this year?

I was doing some thinking about just how happy everyone would be with a simple win over Ohio State this year. We would get 3-4 additional high level recruits, and in general I believe it would set our program on the right path permanently. Like last year, a win in that game has the ability to "right the ship" more than any other single game from any team in an entire NCAA football season.

What would you give up in order to see us emerge victorious this season? A Pinky? A Toe? One of your testicles? Surely some of the diehard fans on here would be willing to give up quite a bit.

The last two decades of watching OSU games have done little to dissuade me from my position that there is no god(s) and if they do exist, they hate Michigan football.

I know you guys are half joking/half serious.  But, I attended my first The Game in Columbus last November, and there is no doubt that The Game is more important to them than it is to the University of Michigan and its fans.  There was an intensity around and in the stadium that I've never seen or felt at The Big House.  Definitely a "rabid" atmosphere.  I think there are a variety of reasons for this.  Some of which may have to do with an overall feeling of inferiority.  But, the facts that OSU owns the state and that a much larger percentage of their students come from in-state makes a big difference in the overall fervor for the team and The Game.

I disagree with this. Social media has changed sports fandom. You probably hate OSU more now than you did 20 years ago, not just because of the losing, but because their fans who can't otherwise spell are all over social media...if Michigan wins 10 straight, I would imagine that some of us would be insufferable to them too.

Actually the last few rankings have Michigan anywhere from the #3 to #5 public university in the country. Still solidly top-5 nonetheless, but UCLA, Cal Berkeley and sometimes Virginia/UNC/Vanderbilt are ahead of them.

The latest rankings have Ohio State as the #17 public university, which I believe is the highest in the state currently.

Rankings -- use the highly professional Time Higher Education or QS.  All the other rankings are, in comparison, lame crap.  Other rankings compared to THE and QS are as Michigan State is to Michigan.  Actually, they aren't even that good.

According to 2020 QS, Michigan is #21 in the world -- top US public university.  (THE has Berkeley and UCLA slightly ahead.)

Virginia/UNC/Vanderbilt are nowhere close.

Ohio State is a football school. Michigan is an engineering school, and a b-school, and a law school, and a medical school, and a music school, and a gymnastics school, and a swimming school, and a baseball (!) school, and a basketball school, and yes, also a football school.

I don't necessarily think they need it more, but I do think they invest more in it. If I was OSU, I'd invest in the thing that brings in that much money, too. For us, it's one of the things we're known for. It's one of the huge money makers. We have a variety of identities, locally, nationally, and internationally. Outside of Ohio, they have one.

No need for sacrifices, it is not happening. Come off the ledge and back to reality. Huge talent and coaching disparity.

I don't think you have to call him a pussy for sharing a very legitimate opinion.  In reality, we can all hope for a win, but every indicator is that Michigan is gonna lose "The Game" this year...again.

Or, drink the "opiate of Michigan football" and talk about how this team is "improving" and "looking better", all the while outcomes will be the same this year as has been the previous 4.

Nah, not sacrificing anything.  We'll get there eventually without any pagan idolatry.

This guy sacrificed some bits last year and it didn't do us any good...
