What result against Iowa would renew your confidence in the team, and/or your optimism for the season?

I was discussing the game with a colleague today, and he's full BPONE. However, he stated that if Michigan were to beat Iowa by 2 touchdowns on Saturday, then he would have renewed hope in the team.

So, what result against Iowa would restore your confidence and optimism in the team? I'm not now, and have never been, a pessimist. The Wisconsin result was shocking, but I believe in Coach Harbaugh and his ability to get this Michigan team back on a continual upward trajectory.

My confidence is steady. A ten point win on Saturday steels my resolve even more. If Michigan wins in blowout fashion (21+ points), I'm making plans for Indianapolis to exact revenge on the Badgers!

None. If we beat Iowa, Penn State, Notre Dame  and Michigan State, we’ll have made some progress, but if we lose to OSU, the season still finishes in the toilet. Another 3rd place division finish and the latest in a long line of Citrus Bowl bids.

My confidence was restored last week.

Ok, seriously a double digit win that's relatively comfortable in the 4th quarter. Of course overall play, such as turnovers, offensive competence, etc., matter.

It’d be awesome just to win.  It’s a young defense and a new offense.  It’s taking some time to get it together.  I’d be really surprised if we win big, but wouldn’t be surprised if we lose narrowly.  I think something good is building.  Just wanna see our guys get a big win at home!  Go blue!

If I don't have to leave my seat at the stadium during the game, I'd be happy. There has been too many of these shit shows that I just don't want to witness.

A win.

Michigan still has Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Ohio State.  A win tomorrow guarantees a bowl game, and gives me hope that Michigan can possibly win the Penn State, Notre Dame, and Michigan State games.

A loss makes me think Michigan has no chance in those 4 games, and is a slip up against Maryland or Indiana from not making a bowl game.

I think they’ll win and score doesn’t matter to me as long as they look as effective and organized as last week and a little better. I think we’ll learn far more about this team when they go to unHappy Valley.

I need to see our D shut down their power run game. I lost a lot of faith in our D...scheme and personnel after Wiscy.
Also, the O needs to take another stride forward.  Make people respect our Run game again.
If we can’t do the above...we will lose to ND, PSU,MSU, and OSU at a minimum.  And this fanbase and off season will be insufferable.

No turnovers. There doesn’t have to be a score to win by necessarily. Just a Michigan team that looks like it knows what the hell its doing. One that doesn’t look like it beats itself. I don’t know how good Iowa actually is, so if Michigan beats them and looks like a good team doing it, I don’t care if the score is by 1 or 100.

If Iowa wins tomorrow, then so be it. I’d just want it to be because they’re the better team, not because Michigan gave them the game. Which is how I’m afraid tomorrow will go.

All I hope for is for these guys to play like truly FREE MEN!

Shea Patterson! It is your God-Given right Test the shuffling DE; throw it up to the NFL caliber WR’s and make a stumbling safety or corner pay for not being able to stay with them.

Any victory would be most welcome

I doubt Michigan wins tomorrow but even if they do I have next to no confidence they will beat Ohio St or Penn St. I doubt they will beat MSU for that matter but maybe a good win tomorrow would give me more confidence re: MSU.

Just win! I predicted a 9-3 record before the season started. I thought we would lose to @ WI, @ PSU and at home to OSU. This game along with MSU and ND were going to be tough wins. Since ND is a home night game, I thought we would win but I'm not sure now. If we lose to IA, I think we may lose all of the games listed above for a 6 loss season and that  is not good for year 5 of Harbaugh, but I think every good coach can have a bad season. Bo was 6-6 in '84, Carr was 7-5 in '05. I still think Harbaugh will rebuild the program, it may just take longer than we all had first thought.

Enjoy the next 2 wins, M will be fringe top ten going to Penn state and the season will get ugly after that. 7-5.

Poor offensive execution (coaches and players) and A Weak defensive line will not get fixed during the season

Certain a win is nearly a must, but competent play is definitely a must. I don't want to see us win a game where we were lucky one way or the other. I want us to look good against a solid Hawkeye squad.

I guess the o-line would look much improved, Shea would be accurate, the D would rarely look caught off guard or out of position, and at least a 3 score victory.

I don't care so much about the new offense stuff, except the offense clearly needs an identity, any identity would do.

Then I'd think "OK, maybe this team can actually challenge OSU and the first 3 weeks were growing pains."

I know this may sound counterintuitive with all the focus on our passing game, but we’re not going to beat Iowa, PSU, MSU, ND, or OSU unless we can run the ball with some authority, especially in the red zone.

How anyone can truly believe this team will be in Indy boggles my mind. If we can’t even hang with the Badgers how can we expect to beat Ohio state?  Harbaugh is great at home but atrocious on the road, the penn state game will be more telling than Iowa. Plus Iowa isn’t nearly as good as their rating. But I already know if Michigan wins this fan base will declare that we’re on track for a playoff spot.
