What to do after Spring Game
OK so my wife and I are coming up for the Spring games Saturday and it's our first trip up. We plan to try to get in on the locker room tours before the game but other than that I'm not sure what to do. I've been a UM fan since I was a kid and really want try to catch as much of the historical and just down right bad ass things to do with UM sports. We plan to be in AA all weekend and would like to find that 1 restaurant and bar that all the UM fans head to when the games are over. Now its like a 7 hour or so drive from the Louisville KY are which is where we are from so try not to get us too wore out so we can make it home Sunday. Thanks for any info and see you guys there!!

in the 50's?
I think Ashley's might be a better choice, at least until it warms up a little more.
..ignore the health factor, promise yourself you will eat better for the next day or two and go for the stilton fries.
Can't. stop. eating. them.

Yer my boy Blue. If the weather is even vaguelly sunny and sort of comfortable, you have to hit Dominicks and have a mason jar of sangria...

Make hotel reservations in Pasadena.

Have yourself cryogenically frozen, and then thawed in late August.
Should you insist on staying with the non-frozen, I'm quite fond of Ashley's.

!) Blimpy Burger. On the corner of Packard and Division, it's an Ann Arbor stable and the best place to go for a heart-attack on a bun.
2) Zingerman's Deli. This place is a bit of a hike from the stadium (Detroit and Kingsley in Kerrytown), but is totally worth it. Also unique to Ann Arbor, this place is delicious albeit a bit on the pricey side.
3) Ashley's (as mentioned above). This is a beer snob's heaven, with a decent food menu as well. Corner of William and State street.
4) Cottage Inn Pizza (the original). Great pizza, and not the chain pizza place you may be thinking of (it's a sit-down place). 1 block west of Ashley's on William.

When I was there a year ago there was a cool comedy club below Seva's on Liberty street, and they usually had some good talent on Friday/Saturday nights. If you're looking for a nice place for dinner, take your pick of the Main street restaurants: I recommend Palio's and if you're really looking to spend some cash, the Chop House. Also, The Arena is a decent sports bar with great food, if that's what you're looking for. Goddamnit I miss Ann Arbor.
I used to go to the Comedy Showcase underneath Seva all the time. The comedians there are usually pretty good (a few of them had their own Comedy Central specials).
I was never impressed with The Arena, though. I know Buffalo Wild Wings is a chain, but I'd rather go there than The Arena.
If you're going down to Main Street and want a nice dinner, try Chop House or Gratzi.
I've been going to Michigan games my whole life, but I have never been to Blimpy Burger. I am hoping to go there Saturday, from what I've heard the place is legendary.

My only knock on it ia that it's a tad overpriced.

DO IT! Only don't use your cell phone when youre in line...youll get kicked out!
...and heed the Blimpy Burger Ordering Guide.

I'd recommend going to the softball game. The Michigan women have one of the best teams in the country.

If you're into seeing the history of UM's campus, I would definitely check out this practicum tour from a History of the University of Michigan course I took:
http://www.umich.edu/~hist265/pdf/05_practicum_web.pdf
It has a lot of cool information and is mapped out such that you can easily skip over things you aren't really interested in seeing.
Enjoy Ann Arbor!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Packard Pub be PACKED after the spring game. I know it just opened up but students have been craving a bar there for pre/post game drinking for football games.

Maize and Blue Deli for lunch
Then after wards head to the Heidelberg on North Main for Das Boots!

Blimpy Burger for a post game meal, a campus tour, then Ashley's for a few beers.
If you still have extra time, zingerman's for lunch on Sunday.

You should stock up on victory cigars and prepare yourself for another Michigan win!

Walk the campus, first the Law Quad (hit the library for sure), then the Union, then the Diag.
Before it gets too late in the day check out Scorekeepers, Blimpy Burger, Good Time Charlies.
Then head over to the Main Street area for some adult late evening stuff.
Check it out. Across the street from the Law Quad and Dominick's.
Hell yes, gotta love my B School

Get on MgoBlog and make one of, sure to be, 50 threads on the awesomeness of this years team.
Everyone else's ideas all sound stimulating as well. I'd go w/ their ideas.

Ashley's. I also recommend the softball game.
I don't know how big a hockey fan you are, but if you can, stroll by Yost to at least behold its wonderful facade.
Just like on Lost in Space.
In fact, I just got out after my former caretaker forgot about me for the past two years. Anything of note happen in the time I missed?
is worth a visit if you are going to be over on Main. Unique beer and good food.
Metzger's down on AA-Saline is open this weekend? I'm NEVER there in the spring, so they could be closed for all I know. Saurbraten and gigantic German beers. Mmmm...
Softball game, then dispensary, then blimpy's, then dispensary.
Packard Pub looks like a cool place to try out. Haven't been in there yet but they have about a kajillion TVs and a football mural on the wall. I expect there to be some post game traffic there. It's on the corner of Packard and State.
Go to Maison-Edwards and have a tasty victory cigar.

Find a Subway and treat yourself to a 5 dollar foot long. You won't be disappointed.

I recommend going to the Angell Hall computing site. There are dozens of computers with which to post depth charts under different monikers.
Angell Hall Fishbowl gets pretty scary about 1AM
I used to love going to the Fishbowl late at night. Then I didn't have to stand around looking for an open computer.
And, of course, nothing is as scary as the 1Ls freaking in December down in the Law Library. The only thing keeping that from looking like hell itself is the bright concrete wall design that keeps things looking institutional bright tan.
THOUSANDS of computers!
