What 3 Things Have To Happen to get the W Next Week?

Submitted by Eli on November 23rd, 2019 at 9:08 PM

First of all a shoutout to all my Michigan Brothers that came to Bloomington for the game. It was great to meet and talk to so many Michigan fans. That was worth the drive and I'm glad I went. Staying in Indy for the night.

What 3 things need to happen to get the W next week? I will go first...

1. NO turnovers for us and we need to force at least one.

2. Fast start. We cannot fall behind.

3. DPJ needs to have his moment. Punt Return for TD, me thinks.

All of these are possible, but damn it is going to be tough. I am going to try to be optimistic this week.

Ohio St started of slow against Wisconsin, Michigan  St, and Penn St. They didn't take off right away, though that is the perception. Turnovers hurt Michigan St early.

I don't think it's going to be Michigan holding a tiger by the tail like so many think it will be.

It feels like, in tandem to the whole team playing to there potential they will need an “above potential” game from someone. Ie the biakabutuka effect.

Maybe it’s Shea with a “holly shit” game where he is a magician with pin and pulls and getting first downs out of his ass etc. Maybe the d line playing so well fields is a confused little boy. Sort of like last year when UMs d line was the talk of the town but they didn’t play elite (injury caveat, not bashing them).

while all have to play their best it just feels like a key player or unit is going to have to rise higher than their normal potential for this game.

1.  Good weather so we can pass the ball.

2.  +2 or +3 in turnover margin.

3.  front 7 have to have their BEST game and keep their running attack in check.

It CAN be done!  Fumbling is in their heads now!

1. Defense needs to have its best game - need to make Fields uncomfortable

2. Shea needs to be MSU good right out of the gate.  Use his legs when he needs to, but be smart about it. Quick decisions!

3. They need to believe they can win- there is a mental block with OSU they need to overcome.  Coaches can help by playing to win and not playing to lose.

Our safety catches the interception thrown right at his chest.

Our tight end doesn’t pick the biggest game of the year to have all his drops for the season.

Our QB doesn’t single-handedly lose the game for us.

We need to minimize Chase Young’s impact. Every second you have the ball behind the LOS is increasing his opportunity to make game changing plays.

I say run the ball right at him. Give Ben Mason ONE JOB. To concuss Young or make him afraid to stand up to the run game.

1. Get off to a faster start than usual- it’s hard to chase them if they are scoring early and they get out to a 2 to 3 score lead.
2. acknowledge that they WILL score and when they do don’t panic. Indiana scored early and took the lead twice, but the team didn’t panic and just continued to go down the field. Defense adjusted and Then took over while the offense put up points.

3. Obviously no turnovers.
Bonus- Block Chase Young.

Finally- Michigan wins next week- book it.
Go Blue!!!
