What's your Top 5 in college football? I have M at #5
This is my Top 5:
1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Ohio St
5. Michigan
Where is Cincinnati? I don't think they belong ranked in the Top 5. Even though they are undefeated, and they beat Navy today, they were outgained by Navy 308 to 271. Navy has the #60 defense in the Nation. And Cincinnati got only 271 total yards on them? The only team to get less yards against Navy than that was Air Force, at 225. Here's the list of opponents total yards against Navy's defense this season:
Marshall--464
Air Force--225
Houston--384
UCF--326
SMU--404
Memphis--415
I hope the CFP doesn't have Cincinnati in the Top 4 when their first ranking comes out on November 2. I don't think, from what they've shown so far, that they belong in the playoffs.
I suppose some might say Ohio St should be ranked higher. But I don't think their defense is good enough to beat the 3 teams ahead of them.
What's your Top 5?

1) Georgia
2) BAMA
3) OSU
4) Michigan
5) Oklahoma

Yep, this is the correct top 4 right now, albeit with a big gap after the top 3. I might put Cinci ahead of OU after their performance against Kansas today. OU has been very unimpressive thus far.
October 24th, 2021 at 3:00 AM ^
With JJ we're possibly top 5, with Cade barely top 10, sorry it's just how I see it. We are limited offensively with Cade, great kid but he would be a fantastic 2nd string guy, the running game and defense has carried us.
October 24th, 2021 at 6:04 AM ^
I agree. I don't think we're inside the top 10 with Cade. I watched CJ Stroud last nite and his accuracy is impressive. Wish Cade could be half that and most of those long balls would've been converted. Reality makes an appearance for this team next Saturday
October 24th, 2021 at 6:48 AM ^
Some of you may be right but most of JJ's playing time has come when it doesn't matter. Obviously, he has the physical tools but game management and judgement are yet to be ascertained. You also don't know the chemistry between JJ and the rest of the offense. You do know what it is with Cade and it is excellent. I'm not suggesting we wouldn't be better with JJ, I am saying that he is largely an unknown. His day will come but you don't yank a QB with a 7-0 record and 1 INT through those 7 games.
As for a ranking, we will know much more after next week.
October 24th, 2021 at 8:32 AM ^
I'll bite, and be pedantic, but we're already inside the top 10 with Cade.

Don't go bringing facts to a message board fight.
October 24th, 2021 at 12:46 PM ^
There seems to be a small core, or should I say hardcore, of commenters there that have a negligence of facts.
October 24th, 2021 at 7:55 AM ^
How do you know JJ is that much better?
What has he shown you? Are you at practices? Do you think Harbaugh is trying to sabotage the season?
John O'Korn was better than Speight, too. Until it turned out that he wasn't.
October 24th, 2021 at 8:18 AM ^
What I do know is Harbaugh has a tendency to be too loyal to his QB and has shown reluctance to give the backup the keys when the offense stalls. You apparently forgot about the Milton disaster last year. What did he show you that convinced you he was the top QB Iast year? I don't need to be at practice to see he clearly doesn't have the touch and accuracy a quality QB should have. If Cade can't be more precise with the long ball and stretch the field, sparty will t up on our ran game.
Speight was better than everyone else, except when he had to compete vs McCaffery and Peters. Then he wasn't and he transferred
October 24th, 2021 at 11:36 AM ^
I don't know about Cincinnati. They got only 271 yards yesterday against Navy. They just don't belong in the Top 4.
Maybe SMU will upset them and end their chances. Being ranked higher than a team really deserves, just because that team is undefeated, should come with caveats.
October 24th, 2021 at 11:37 AM ^
It is also the top 5 in the current ESPN College Football Power Index:

That top 5 looks about right. I might flip Alabama and OSU but don't have a problem either way.
October 23rd, 2021 at 11:34 PM ^
Georgia
Cincinnati
Oklahoma
Alabama
Ohio State
We’re nowhere near a top five team.
October 23rd, 2021 at 11:36 PM ^
According to last week's polls we were 6th, which if I check my math, feels pretty close to a top 5 team
October 23rd, 2021 at 11:37 PM ^
Michigan will probably be ranked 6 on both polls. That's quite close to being a top 5 team.
October 23rd, 2021 at 11:54 PM ^
But Cincinnati is?
*dismissive fart noise*
October 24th, 2021 at 12:10 AM ^
Cincinnati is clearly a far better team than we are. Come on, dude.

Bro. We don’t even have a QB. You can’t win in the B1G without a QB.
October 24th, 2021 at 12:40 AM ^
@ Sommy... I'm calling you out as either an OSU or MSU troll. You've been a member of the blog for a while but I think you're just patiently playing the long game here. Your comments are so incessantly negative that it has to be an act.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:06 AM ^
On the one hand sure, on the other hand have you met a Michigan football fan?
October 24th, 2021 at 1:48 PM ^
He probably is a Michigan fan. I don't really have a problem with commenters like him. I don't agree with them. But I think they have should be allowed to comment. I don't get the intolerance toward people that don't say what is supposed to be said on this board. Vulgarity, personal attacks, and spamming, are what cross the line.
Disagreements should be allowed.

October 24th, 2021 at 8:27 AM ^
"We shouldn’t even be ranked after that debacle. Every single undefeated team is better than we are, including MSU and Coastal Carolina." —Sommy, September 26
October 24th, 2021 at 9:05 AM ^
I stand by that quote, thank you very much.
October 24th, 2021 at 9:23 AM ^
Coastal Carolina's opponents prior to their loss to Appalachian State were The Citadel, Kansas, Buffalo, UMass, UL Monroe, and Arkansas St. The combined record of those teams was 11-26.
And yet you still maintain that Coastal Carolina is a better team than Michigan.
October 24th, 2021 at 2:02 PM ^
Are you sure?
October 24th, 2021 at 12:14 AM ^
We? Who is we? MSU?
October 24th, 2021 at 6:47 AM ^
What has Cincinnati or Oklahima done that has impressed you more than Michigan? They dont pass the eyeball test either.

October 23rd, 2021 at 11:42 PM ^
1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Alabama
4. Cincinnati
5. Oklahoma
I have MSU ahead of Michigan but I'm not willing to argue it. We'll find out in a week. Either way, I have both closer to 10 than 5.
October 24th, 2021 at 12:02 AM ^
You’re very negative.
October 23rd, 2021 at 11:42 PM ^
Does anyone ranking Cinci above BAMA or OSU really believe they are a better team. You realize any team not named UGA, BAMA or OSU would be a 7+ point underdog to those top 3 on a neutral field, and Cinci would probably be a 14+ point dog to any of those top 3 teams.
October 23rd, 2021 at 11:47 PM ^
Then why play the games?
October 23rd, 2021 at 11:58 PM ^
That how college football works, it’s played in the collective imaginations and analysis of the media and coaches.
I think it’s safe to say that Cincinnati will be left out if Michigan, OSU, Georgia, alabama all have 1 loss.
October 24th, 2021 at 12:03 AM ^
I can't buy that. The politics involved will never let that happen.
