Lie to me and tell me that over/under matrix doesn't improve your enjoyment of a sport based around people putting on plastic armor and bashing into each other.

Then you're obviously not for nerding over football.
Also, I guarantee that top level football programs have made football into spreadsheets.

This is not a serious post given the audience here, is it? We have quite literally reduced the entire game to spreadsheets here and we are smugly proud of it, thank you. It has even brought this place recognition....on sites that have transient readership at best, but still...

I think the great writing has brought this place attention. Technical posts like FFFF, UFR are great but they never feel like out-n-out spreadsheeting. To each his own I suppose.

I have spreadsheets for my spreadsheets.

Hah, spreadsheets. Someday I will share my spreadsheets counting the number of seniors on each team going back 20 years. Why? you ask. Because you have to have 20 or more seniors to win a national championship (unless you are Clemson which did it twice. I still haven't figured out how.) Student-athletes aren't likely to stick around for a 5th year at losing programs.

Lots of interesting stats there.
I'd be super interested in seeing what kind of Coaching Staff ratings you'd see for all of our favorite cast of misfits sideline characters.
I'd also love to compare it to MGoblog player ratings.

Great post. The time to aggregate the micro > macro stats. What stood out was how Georgia, Alabummer and Clemson only have 2 teams at most that reach levels of competition. With OCC games the matrix really stood out. B1G East looks like the best of teams on paper. Really appreciate the work here.
