I have no personal issue with GOJ but after the last cycle - specifically QB recruiting - I no longer buy anything he says. I think he's totally full of it and, at most, bases what he writes on paysite info or his imagination.

Last cycle he was SO wrong about Moore and Carr specifically that I immediately knew it was BS. Those were two guys I have actual sources on and he was wrong about them in the sense that it was literally the opposite of what he was saying.

"The staff feels real good about Moore"

When the staff hadn't made an overt attempt to reach out to Moore's camp in months. He kept writing these amazing updates that just weren't true at all. Like, at all. Not even close.

"They see Carr as a bit of a sure thing"

At no point did the staff want Carr - or vice versa - beyond a backup option. Even then they were each about the #4 option for both sides. Like Moore, everything he was writing about Carr was just wrong. Objectively. Factually wrong.

To say GOJ was wrong is to put it lightly. Also, I'll say for the thousandth time that I'm not an insider or wish to be. I have old friends in the area from my time working at UM. We talk, I hear things. Even what I hear isn't always straight-up info but stuff I'll have to read into from a natural conversation where, frankly, it would be weird to just ask them. That's it.

What is the latest I have on Underwood? It's old info (Winter-ish) but pretty direct and based on that I'd pick him to not go to Michigan. It's much better than under Weiss but I'd still pick him to not go to UM if I had to guess today. Maybe it has gotten much better since my last check-in? Again, this is/was from someone very close to Underwood so take it for what it's worth and I'll try to get an update soon.

I know nothing about Gatlin Blair or anyone else he wrote about beyond Dotson and he was pretty much always a sure thing if UM wanted him. That's not even news, tbh.

But, not that I should have to say this, take everything this GOJ dude writes with a grain of salt. Again, no offense to him personally as I think he just likes the shtick. You can like it, too! I'm just saying to take the info with a grain of salt (if you can decipher it).

It's actually very similar to the things I heard about Moore last cycle. NIL is a thing here but he has said before that he doesn't want to go to a school that recently took a QB (I think he means "elite" QB). He later took that sentiment back but right after that I heard it was still an issue so I'm going to believe that he would prefer a destination with a clearer path to starting early. However, that's not rare or the main issue. It's just one issue.

The thing that made me most pessimistic on UM's chances was the talk of simply wanting to leave the area. I guess he isn't opposed to staying close but he seems to have a slight favorability toward leaving the area.

So, I'd probably rank NIL second for him in this battle based on what I've heard. The decision to stay local or not is probably higher.

I should add that offensive system is a big deal, too. This probably hurts Michigan more than anything else as it sits right now. He has to be convinced that UM would open it up a bit more for him. Which I do think they would as he's that good and it's the thing Michigsn has the most control over or ability to do/change for him. They may not pay what others will. They can't change their location. They took a fairly high-ranked QB in the previous class but they can guarantee him that they'll accentuate the passing game a bit more with him at QB.

I'm editing this real quick to add that I shouldn't downplay how much better the relationship is post-Weiss. It has gotten A LOT better since his departure. I think that matters and I do want to end on a positive because I'm only saying that based on the last info I got I wouldn't bet on UM, not that he absolutely won't choose UM.

Thanks. I think the picture you're painting matches up with my take as well. It seems to me Underwood is interested in an open, national recruitment where all factors come into play: early playing time, NIL, development history, coaching staff, etc. Unfortunately it is rare that Michigan is competitive in recruitments like these.

The proximity to home has helped with getting Underwood to campus (which has helped with his relationship with the coaching staff) so in that regard it is a positive.

Underwood is set to decide in January, and I think we have to show that we've made up ground in our two biggest deficiencies by then: QB development for the NFL and NIL offers to recruits.

Based on fact, yes. In his time of doing this I can't vouch for his accuracy but he made the mistake last year of talking about people I had/have a lot of connections and info about personally. The things he was saying actually, literally couldn't have been more wrong and more opposed to the truth. He wrote it all with certainty (as he always does) and with the inference of having info from the staff itself.

Which was blatant BS to me at the time and turned out to be BS to everyone over time. Those two I mentioned aren't the only kids he was very wrong about.

Again, I suspect he reads some paysite stuff and then creates pure BS in his head to make it seem like he is in the know. Just a guess and wouldn't be the first time someone has done it. I'm only saying to put less than a little stock into his info, like or dislike his abbreviation shtick all you want.

GoJ’s predictions are no more accurate than a horoscope.

GoJ seems to have copied the tactics of a much more famous fake insider who claimed to be a government insider sharing scandalous information in cryptic form that followers had to decode. (Who turned out to be a server admin).

Maybe GoJ should be called QofM

I love when GoJ posts.  The feedback/replies are mostly glorious.  Although, i really must say, i was really hoping to hear more feedback of the Vietnam soldiers (the Charley boys are coming!)

If the pictures are true about the food at the bbq THIS WEEKEND WE ARE being clowned by recruiits and fans over the food served . Not a good look for an elite event serving Lunchables.

Seriously who cheapened out on this event . Not a good look.

As for Underwood and top QBs and top players - Better step up that NIL - I don't get how we have the largest Alumni base but it comes to do this we let these southern schools and OSU eat us up in this area.

I just need to know if this is an actual picture of what was served at the bbq. If so. WTF?!

Michigan is going to lose battles to southern schools on food alone if they don't get their food game figured out.

Pathetic!

Can we shut up about the food already? It was one kid's plate that was not a representative sample of the food served at the event.

For Dudek, I defer to the words of Carnac the Magnificent (or at least his writers).....

May a desert weirdo lower his figs into your mother's soup.....

May a camel with a kidney condition find your hope chest.....

May the winds of the Sahara blow a desert scorpion into your turban......

Or in the parlance of MGoBlog, FYD!!!
