I seem to recall more than a handful of games being cancelled or moved earlier this season because of someone called Maria. And wasn't it just a few years ago that games on the eastern seaboard were scheduled earlier or moved because of storms? And gosh darn it, wasn't there also a game that was curtailed with much of the 4th Q remaining because it had been in weather delay for so long?

But your reading comprehension sucks. Re-read what he wrote about TV networks not caring about safety.

....this is the Big Ten. We've played in weather like this for literally over a century. Cold, biting wind, rain, sleet, snow. This is what you play in and this is how you win our conference championship.

Correct. It was due to a hurricane off the Atlantic coast. By moving it up to noon, there were no effects from the storm. A bit of rain and cold is not a reason to change the kickoff in our case. It's Michigan fergodsakes.

And really it was due to travel concerns for after the game and fan/player safety during it. Not because how rain and wind would change the game.

The Maryland game next weekend was moved up to noon?
Thanks,

That was moved from 8pm to noon to avoid potentially hazardous weather due to Hurricane Joaquin. Of course it turned out to be nothing but some light/moderate rain so ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This year's game is still at 3:30.

Thank you for the reply. I was worried haha. My son's birthday is Saturday the 11th, and I was really planning on a 3:30pm game haha. Load up on cake and pizza, then 3:30 watch a Harbaugh Vs. Durkin showdown. Hopefully the Miami ND game is at 7:30. I would love for Miami to win so I can see the Domer fans at my house weep.

A graphic showed during the WS last night showed it to be on FS1. But if it's Fox outright, then great! In any case, I'll find it Saturday and it will be on the big screen in my living room (despite the best efforts of my kid and wife to watch Dr Phil, or some other such bullshit...)
November 1st, 2017 at 9:31 AM ^
It will be on FS1 if the World Series goes to 9 games.

Wunderground is calling for 0.19 inches of rain and 9 mph winds. Nothing close to the MSU deathstorm.
I assure you that you will not melt in these conditions.......maybe.
November 1st, 2017 at 6:54 AM ^
MSU weather was bizarre for most of second half. Rainy, 9 mph winds and 50 degrees is football weather. Ball security will be biggest issue.

all those boats Minnesota has been rowing. It could give them a distinct advantage if the field floods.

In the interim could use Ford Field, it isn't like the Lions need it on weekends.

I don't have to deal with another loss, so we are going to have to suck it up and learn to play in bad weather.

The boys and I are making the Little Brown Jug road trip from South Carolina. If we can handle a little cold and wind without complaint you'd think people who live up north could handle it!

They can be close on temps and winds this far out, but not precipitation. This time last week they were all predicting 80% rain for gametime. By Saturday morning the sun was out.
I think we are planning to pound the rock, and a little rain should not affect that.
November 1st, 2017 at 7:52 AM ^
87 percent chance of rain, 46 degrees feeling like 41, and thunderstorms at game time? Hell no.
(Weather Underground)
Night games are sweet in August/September against anyone and October/November when it is a huge game. Brown Jug was cool in 1935.
November 1st, 2017 at 11:31 AM ^
Little Brown Jug is still cool.
November 1st, 2017 at 12:51 PM ^
The Little Brown Jug will never not be cool. But it's not a reason to play a night game in November.
