Weather for minny game

Submitted by goblue85 on
So weather for Saturday night looks worse than sparty game. First off it shouldn't be night game. Could they move it up to noon like maryland game couple years ago? They could put us on fs1.

I'll add this here: AAGO sent me (and all pass-holders) an email yesterday stating they're not opening the gates until 1 pm for club members and parking pass holders, 1:30 pm IF parking is available to the public. For the Rutgers game last weekend (according to their crew chief) they only allowed approximately 800 vehicles on the course, far less than the normal 2500 cars. Even then, the course was pretty muddy by day's end. Methinks they're hedging their bets on moar rain.

it will not be moved. It's football. Tv networks don't care about the weather unless it's a safety thing, even then they don't care, but don't have a choice. Cold rain is not a danger, just an annoyance.

I seem to recall more than a handful of games being cancelled or moved earlier this season because of someone called Maria.  And wasn't it just a few years ago that games on the eastern seaboard were scheduled earlier or moved because of storms?  And gosh darn it, wasn't there also a game that was curtailed with much of the 4th Q remaining because it had been in weather delay for so long?

Avoid every circumstantial challenge that comes our way. The players are not made of cotton candy....they’ll have to learn how to play in the rain sometime. Might as well be Minnesota

The only reason the Maryland game got moved was because of the potential for severe weather (hurricane Matthew I believe). Also get used to the night games as there will be 1-2 a year from now on regardless of opponent.

That was moved from 8pm to noon to avoid potentially hazardous weather due to Hurricane Joaquin.  Of course it turned out to be nothing but some light/moderate rain so ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This year's game is still at 3:30.

Thank you for the reply. I was worried haha. My son's birthday is Saturday the 11th, and I was really planning on a 3:30pm game haha. Load up on cake and pizza, then 3:30 watch a Harbaugh Vs. Durkin showdown. Hopefully the Miami ND game is at 7:30. I would love for Miami to win so I can see the Domer fans at my house weep.

Wunderground is calling for 0.19 inches of rain and 9 mph winds. Nothing close to the MSU deathstorm.

I assure you that you will not melt in these conditions.......maybe.

Have been watching this closely. I am really hoping this forecast changes. We picked up an extra ticket for the seat next to us months ago to bring our 8 year old daughter. I don’t want her to have to sit the the cold rain and deal with a sick kid.

This is football in Michigan in November. Not my daughter's soccer schedule in NC, where a rumor of clouds or mist causes people to bum rush the Food Lion for bread and milk. Besides, I'm making the trip and looking forward to a night game for once.

87 percent chance of rain, 46 degrees feeling like 41, and thunderstorms at game time?  Hell no.

(Weather Underground)

Night games are sweet in August/September against anyone and October/November when it is a huge game.  Brown Jug was cool in 1935.
