Good effort by a very undermanned, undersized UM team. Purdue looks like they are ready to disappoint in the tourney once again. No way they make the Final 4 despite their ranking.

Looks like coach Howard has more energy and I hope his health is better. He looked very lethargic those first games back.

This season is obviously done. But the good thing about basketball is that it only takes a couple good recruits /transfers to turn things around next year. It won't be this bad again.

I guess four conference wins would be better. Where do you see better players coming in from? Recruits he has are good not great. But not o e and done so will not be great next year. How many grad transfers are that good? Wouldn’t they go pro if they were good? Howard isn’t good at finding or developing talent. It has shown itself out. A heart condition is a sad excuse for ignoring stats.

Just a realist. This season is lost but this has been the worst team talent on the floor in my memory going back to the days of Rudy T. I don't think Juwan is going anywhere next season and today was the first day he looked and acted physically "well".

The line up that has been academically eligible, didn't have the flu ( Tschetter showed a lot today), and wasn't injured  (Nkamhoua  was playing very injured this past month and it showed) is by far the least talented, had the least depth, and least disciplined squad in memory. It won't be worse next year regardless of who the coach is,

It's easy to bitch about this team but Coach K couldn't do anything with this squad as is. Speaking of "great coaches",  Izzo totally blew their game at Breslin - he needs to retire.

We suck, I get it. But that was the worst officiated game I’ve seen in a long time. If you are going to call it tight, fine. If you are going to call it loose, fine. What you can’t do is let one team play physical and punish the other team for playing the same way.

Yeah, at some point I do get basically the entire rest of the conference getting super annoyed with how Purdue is officiated especially Edey.  It's why I fully expect them to flame out in the tournament early; they're not going to get a favorable whistle at some point and that's basically a team of Just Guys with one oversized player in the middle.

They are less impressive than the Isaac Haas-era Purdue teams that had guys like Carsen and Vincent Edwards and Dakota Mathias. I think Michigan’s smaller lineup was the best approach: 5 guys that are plausible 3 point shooters to draw Edey out on D. You know you’re going to give up a high percentage of 2s, so you play for turnovers, more 3s, and an offense that vacates the lane so you can punish closeouts with a drive.

Basically, you want a Beilein team. If the 5 can’t shoot, hopefully it’s a Jordan Morgan type that can play solid D and rebound, and won’t pick up offensive fouls while setting ball screens.

It’s sort of weird that a little over ten years ago Michigan and Louisville played for the national championship, and today Louisville is 8-19 and 3-13 in conference while Michigan is 8-20 and 3-14.

They battled hard, but keep hearing they were short handed just a question who is responsible for the roster? That would be the problem? Right?
