Washington loses at home to FCS team Montana
I watched most of this game, and Washington’s offense is absolutely STINKY. I mean really really really bad. Doesn’t project to be the matchup we expected

Washington was without their top 3 WR's, which didn't affect their terrible offensive line play.
Looks like a quick decline coming after the Chris Peterson era for UW which is a shame. Will be interesting to see if Harbaugh goes for the jugular or plays his usual tight self against good teams. Washington will play better next week, I'm sure their whole team was looking right past Montana to Ann Arbor.

Mixed feelings. This season would have been fun with a ranked Washington.
also Kekoa Crawford just had a catch mayn. Go Bears

I thought he was at a pro camp, wow good for him. What is this, his 6th yr?
September 5th, 2021 at 4:48 AM ^
Why should we worry about that, no other teams do. Clemson won't play a ranked team the rest of the year.

Montana canceled their 2020 football season due to covid. They were scheduled to play a 6 game spring season in 2021 but only played 2 of those games going 2-0. So they have only played 2 games since 2019.
Go Blue

Wisconsin will plow this defense. Have to hope the Michigan offense can go toe to toe with them and keep up.
September 5th, 2021 at 10:44 AM ^
Did you misread "Wisconsin" as "Washington"?
September 5th, 2021 at 1:59 AM ^
My expectations won't change even a bit. We are known for making shit teams look like super bowl teams.
Go out and execute. Let the guard down and MSU '20 will happen all over again.
September 5th, 2021 at 4:49 AM ^
Not at home, at night.
September 5th, 2021 at 7:57 AM ^
It literally happened at home, at night, to MSU, four years ago.
September 5th, 2021 at 3:14 AM ^
John Donovan runs their offense.
That’s really all that needs to be said.
September 5th, 2021 at 4:25 AM ^
I thought I heard their QB was out. Still an ugly score line.
September 5th, 2021 at 8:15 AM ^
I think fans wanted their 5* freshman Huard to start but Morris was the presumptive starter coming into the year if I remember correctly. He certainly was the guy they said earned the starting spot.
September 5th, 2021 at 4:38 AM ^
Fuck Washington…lost to Montana, put up 7 points and you think a light switch is going to turn on with them? And that “switch” is better than our team? Fuck their switch, I’ll take Michigan all day. Go Blue

+1 underrated. Still the worst crew in America.

The PI call and the running into the kicker phantom call reminded me of Higdons holding call when he got tackled. Also, the lack of holding calls on their interior line was ridiculous too.
September 5th, 2021 at 11:17 AM ^
He just now called holding on Karan Higdon
September 5th, 2021 at 6:54 AM ^
We need to destroy them next week and keep riding that positive momentum
September 5th, 2021 at 7:46 AM ^
Giles Jackson "liked" this tweet last night. He probably didn't like Michigan fans pointing out his 4th qtr drop.
Kid leaves your program and some people go out of their way to trash him... sad
September 5th, 2021 at 11:33 AM ^
Giles doesn’t know about that Michigan Difference
September 5th, 2021 at 7:54 AM ^
I’m sure we were all looking at MSU the exact same way after their first game last year, and we all know how that turned out.
Washington’s season is on life-support, and they will undoubtedly come in next week and play like it.
September 5th, 2021 at 10:48 AM ^
Meh. At some point, we are going to have to get used to playing opponents that are actually trying hard to win.
We can't hang our hats on unmotivated opponents for a successful season.
September 5th, 2021 at 8:10 AM ^
Either it bodes well meaning they are not as good as first thought. Or- they had a really bad first game, and will be pissed coming into the big house next week- wounded and dangerous.
September 5th, 2021 at 11:47 AM ^
“Coming in pissed”. What does this even mean?
Michigan will be pissed. Last time they played a night home game they were destroyed. This season is about redemption from last year. This week is another opportunity at that.
September 5th, 2021 at 8:10 AM ^
I will never read too much into early results but it does seem like a couple of teams (like IU, ISU, LSU, and UW) don't quite have it all figured out on one side of the ball or the other, and I'm liking the fact that for all their flaws UM does seem to have an identity and players on both sides to accomplish what they're trying to do.
September 5th, 2021 at 12:06 PM ^
I’d add Oklahoma to that list as well, giving up 35 to Tulane at home.
September 5th, 2021 at 8:50 AM ^
They will be a 180 degree different team next week. They were completely disinterested in playing and thought they’d just roll out there and crush this team.
This game is so damn mental. They will come out strong next week and that o-line of theirs will be the strength that it is.
This is quite literally our chance to see if it’s “same old mentally soft Michigan” or not. My hope is UM comes out like they are playing a team that didn’t lose to lose to Montana.
September 5th, 2021 at 9:17 AM ^
All the coaching staff has to do is remind them about last year's MSU game over and over and over at every turn, every moment of the day.
September 5th, 2021 at 11:44 AM ^
Lol. They lost to a FCS school and now have to travel across country to play Michigan in the Big House. While I am sure they will give great effort I am not at all sure that it will make a huge difference. They couldn’t push around Montana and their QB play was subpar.
September 5th, 2021 at 9:16 AM ^
Also - NIU beat GT. Our schedule does not look like I though it did a couple days ago.
September 5th, 2021 at 9:20 AM ^
Wasn't able to watch the game but Michigan's defense needs to do what Montana did, only better. Too bad this won't be a noon kick (9AM Pacific time).
Our guys needs to build on the momentum; Go Blue!
September 5th, 2021 at 10:32 AM ^
Comical people thinking the Washington team from last night shows up in A2 next week. Wait. They will get their chit together. Washington will not risk being 0-2 and they have a fantastic O-line that will push our soft interior around. Enough to win? Don’t know. But they will push us in the interior.
September 5th, 2021 at 11:42 AM ^
Comical that people think a team that just lost to a FCS schools will “get their shit together” in a week. Washington hasn’t played a road game in two years btw.
September 5th, 2021 at 1:33 PM ^
We'll get UW's best this Saturday...we always do.
September 5th, 2021 at 3:29 PM ^
That sucks. Could have been a top 25 matchup. It’s good to get quality wins early before we shit the bed
