Two weeks in a row now, where I’ve been up by 4 o’clock. My hearts racing and my adrenaline is flowing…. Let’s get this B1G championship and get to the playoff.

in the book of numbers it says this:

If a bull is offered as a sacrifice to please me or to ask my blessing, you must offer six pounds of flour mixed with two quarts of olive oil.  Two quarts of wine must also be poured on the altar. The smell of this smoke is pleasing to me.

we have plenty of flour, pretty sure we can scratch up the wine somewhere, and the bulls? well, they are about 20 minutes from go-time.

Some of us are old and need coffee before we can be this excited about anything, but yes, I do relish the idea of having a game to watch later today whereas my Spartan neighbor...well....he'll understand sports one day. There's time for that yet.

Up and at’em, Atom Ant!  Time to get pumped up.  What is the optimal time to start drinking today? I think some morning cocktails are OK, you have time to process before 8:00.  What I want to avoid is succumbing to the fever and start loading up at, say, 4:00, during the Bama/Georgia game.  Once the dogs get off the leash, it’s hell to round them up…

can't wait for tonight! This is the one time I don't mind an 8pm game. I can enjoy the day of football leading up to the most important game of the night.

I'm old enough that sleeping past 4:00am is a bonus; I don't need the B10 championship game to wake up early. But I've been up for over 3 hours, had 2 cups of java, and I have no clue how to pace myself for 12 MORE HOURS. Anyway there's a story that the night before the Northwestern game in 1975 Bo couldn't sleep because he 'realized' that Northwestern was a much better team than he thought. The next day: M 69, NW 0. I was at that game so I'm channeling it heading into tonight's game vs. Iowa. Prediction: Michigan 23 Iowa 6. Go Blue!

Interestingly, this game holds the potential of being 69-0 as well-all the angst of the fans not withstanding. Iowa is well-coached and will play hard but they are not  a good team. I would not be surprised if Macdonald and his good crew pitch a shut-out.

I'm hoping that Baylor, Houston and Georgia win and that Michigan annihilates Iowa...that would be a wonderfully perfect day of football for me. Otherwise, I only care about one team winning today.

Seth?

And on that note, it's hard to believe that Brian chose an early season hockey game over the B1G Championship football game!  WTF?  I mean, I get that not everybody can afford to do something like that on such short notice (hell, I'm not sure I could pull it off three weeks before Christmas), but it surprised me to hear that.  Nonetheless, I hope both Seth and Brian have a great time watching it with the rest of us tonight!

I would rather have had a noon game. Enjoy the game and more Football. More importantly I would have been able to talk about FB with with everyone on MGoBlog all day being relaxed after the win. Nonetheless, it is a great day, a balanced team that can manball or spread you out. Great RB to pound you down all day and two great backs with great speed and receiving skills. Best TE in the B1G who can outrun all those LBs and block like hell. WRs who can run like wind, make circus catches and block on the edges. An Offensive Linemen who can swat you like a fly and open up gaps the size of Iowa. Two QBs - One who is a sniper that patiently waits for his prey at the perfect wind and the other an all out assault brigade who has a cannon of an arm and will fool you with his legs. Special Teams that can punk Ferentz. Cornerbacks who are like your cojoined twins, a safety who can play everywhere in the secondary, a senior LB who can blitz the fuck out of you, speed monsters on LBs who run like secondary, DTs who eat doubles like pancakes. Best of all, a two headed monsters on the edge, who terrorize your tackles and make the tackles wonder if they are worth declaring for the draft. Your starting QB wishes he is the third string QB so he doesn't have to face Hutch and Ojabo. If that can't get me excited, what will.

Go Blue! Beat Iowa!

Really bad work week for me.  I didn't get half of what I needed to do done.  No worries, I have no boss at the moment.  My new boss starts on January 10th.  Synchronicity, no?

Bought a new Michigan hat and 3'x5' Michigan flag on line.  Both are due to be delivered today.
