Wake up! It's Game Day!

Submitted by cGOBLUEm on October 8th, 2022 at 5:40 AM

Good morning MGoCommunity!

Thank goodness another football Saturday has finally arrived. I love the anticipation that builds as the week progresses, but there's just nothing like a Saturdays in October. What do you have on the docket today and what are your feelings about todays contest?

I'm up early to get a little studying studying done, then it's off to a home owners' association meeting (blah), then hopefully home in time to catch an hour of CGD/BNS. My meaningless gut feeling about today is that we will look back at this game as a turning point for JJ. Last week he was a patient game manager. This week he will get the deep ball touch back and the offense will really start to bloom.

Anyway, enjoy the day and Go Blue!

I was born Jan 31st 1990. Michigan played Purdue. My dad has never lived down the fact he requested the game to be on during the madness. Michigan lost 91-73   There isn't many Michigan games I don't watch with the old man, and now my son.. congrats and hope it's a better first game for your little man !! Go blue

Colorado State got its first win last night despite:

  1. Throwing for only 75 yards

  2. Committing 136 yards of penalties

  3. Getting outgained by 103 yards

  4. Going 1-11 on third down

  5. Losing the turnover battle 3-2

  6. Only achieving one scoring drive on offense, and for only a field goal.

This was at Nevada, the team that lost almost their entire coaching staff and numerous players (transfered) in the off season to... Colorado State.

Also, with the win over Rutgers last night Nebraska now leads the Big Ten West.

God bless this stupid sport.

Me too. Seven hours of stoopid. But sheer delightful stoopid.

Nebraska sucks.  But Rutger sucks worse. (Although Huskers LOOK like a team now. Their coach excellently worked the clock. No self-inflicted killer errors. If you squint, you might think they resemble a D-1A team. (I refuse to say FBS … and wait the FBS has a championship too so arent they both FCSes??).)

Nevada realllly sucks. But CSU realllly sucks worse… but got those two defensive TDs in first half. And one chunk play on the last drive to set up the FG at buzzer to win.

What comedy that FG was. CSU went all Denver Broncos to let clock run out so they could kick a FG that was 2X longer than the kicker’s longest kick ever. Ofc he missed it … badly.  But wait! Nevada ran into him (in fact, three guys did).  So he sets up for another try 5 yds closer. Makes it… but wait! Nevada called a TO.  So he had to do it again. And… made it again.  Pandemonium. Bedlam. Cue the music. Someone get the kid a date. Winnnnner. At 2am ET.

CRG,

I think it's pretty clear, given this set of facts, that Michigan football is set to kick some serious ass and win the East.

May God help our opponents, (who are not from Ohio), do little or nothing and flounder in self-pity.

More importantly, may the Good Lord grant (little or no) mercy to our remaining opponents, such that they might burn in the Midwestern sun on dry fields of maize...yada...yada...yada...I HATE Ohio State...so sayeth all good peoples of the world and  the Lord, Amen.

Go Forth the Blue...Amen!

PS - May CJ Stroud's dick fall clean off...Amen again.  Thank you, God, for hearing my plea for rainbows and Buckeye doom, etc., etc., and might you smight Columbus for good measure...thank you...what else are asteroids for...Doom to the Shoe.

I should probably head to bed now. I’m really getting tired of these big noon kickoffs. Total lack of sleep on Saturdays at the moment in addition to all the extra f’ing commercials.

So Texas/OU is an unranked matchup, while Kansas/TCU is the ranked matchup. Huh, go figure. College football can be weird. Loveably so, but weird nonetheless.

Up and warming up with a blanket and cat on my lap.  Drinking some coffee (mostly creamer).

I hope you are right, that this gets JJ's deep throws back on the mark.  Based on the Indiana defense preview, they can stop the run better than the pass.  So I hope Michigan does that, pass the ball to open the run.  I would love to see JJ get 300 yards today.

Go Blue!

Campground pooping outside of Bloomington.  It’s cold as a well diggers ass out here. Headed to the game about 9:30, as our tailgate hosts are already there setting it up.

Gonna be a glorious day! Go Blue!

I gotta run 15 miles as prep for my first marathon, which is a decision I am increasingly regretting making. But after I'm done I'll be able to bask in the endorphins and watch michigan beat the everliving fuck out of Indiana! Hope all yall enjoy your morning, and go blue!

So I've worked 24 of the last 32 hours and I'm flipping exhausted.

Hopefully I'll get a few hours of sleep before the game starts. And hopefully if I do I won't sleep through the whole game

We're undefeated, ranked #4 in the nation, and going for our sixth win.

I aborb, like a sponge, all the commentary and game analysis I can find during the week. I feel my anxiety level increasing with each and every game.

It feels like last year.

Boy I love Michigan football Saturdays. Go Blue!

I love fall Saturdays. Drinking my first cup of coffee with my wife right now while we wait for the kids to get up.

Fortunately, my son’s AAU game is at 10. I’ll have to miss Big Noon Saturday, which has replaced Gameday for me recently - way more Big Ten coverage - but the AAU game should be over by 11:30. I’ll be home by 12:15. The DVR is set and we should be caught up to live time in the game before the end of the first quarter!  As much as a want to see JJ go off today, the player o have my eye on for a coming kit party is Okie. If he continues to rapidly improve, he could give us the pass rush we desperately need against teams like OSU and PSU.

I was going to read Punt/Counter Punt, but the slackers haven’t posted it yet.

Heading up into the Appalachian foothills to see the fall colors and catch the game on replay later in the day.

Usual Saturday stuff. Up way to dam early, dip and meatballs in the crock pot. Gonna drag my middle aged ass to the gym then make ribeyes and crab legs tonight while we wait for my sons homecoming to be over so we can pick him up. He gets his license next month and we can’t wait. It’ll be the last of 3 and hopefully the last time we have to run a car service that’s gone back 25 yrs now. As far as my feelings on the game. I hate playing indiana, they always play us as tough as any team on our schedule.

The dirty hits of 2018 and the injuries they caused to Wolverines just in time for the OSU game were evil, despicable, unsportsmanlike, wrong, unnecessary, deplorable, and generally ill advised.  Oh, I think I will throw myself on top of this person laying in prone position with the intent to hurt them because it seems like the right thing to do.

Checking in from up north.  Beautiful fall morning , color change is trending up.  It rained last night so it’s a cold, damp, yet partly sunny start to this day.  Sitting at my desk at home, feet up , slippers on, sipping coffee (also mostly creamer).

Slightly concerned but not really about the game.  Indiana will make this an annoying win. Something like 38-22 or 44-26.   Just enough for stress but we will lean on them in the second half and that will be that.

Anyway cheers    Go Blue.
