VIDEO: Denard vs. the Jets, Roh's 1st Sack EDIT: Also Roy Roundtree Impersonating Taylor Mays
Since I can't embed, below you'll find Denard Every Carry/Catch vs. the Jets. Someone was asking about Craig Roh's sack last week, someone on the interwebs (who, looking at the username, is probably related to Craig), took a video of it happening on their TV.
Those will be the only two videos for this week. Demens didn't have any tackles in his game, I wasn't going to cut BWC up again, since he likely didn't do anything that different from last week. Roh didn't have any tackles/sacks in this past game vs. the Eagles. Roundtree had 1 catch for 18 yards, and supposedly a funny segment in Hard Knocks making fun of former USC S Taylor Mays. If I find it, I'll add it to the thread.
EDIT: Cut up Roundtree as Mays. Pretty funny stuff.

I said it all along... DR is a RB not a WR. Whomever gave him the advice to practice at WR for and at the combine did him a serious misservice as it dropped him at least 3 rounds in the draft. He looked good vs. the Jets. He will need to add 10 good pounds to be a full time RB but the potential is certainly there.

Denard was obviously not a WR to me, despite half the fanbase talking about moving him to WR every year. He was always a RB who can also throw to me. I was surprised and a little disappointed that the Jags were reportedly trying him at WR, but it seems like they may have figured things out. Good for them, and for Denard.
For anyone calling for him to be an "every down back" - that's probably not going to happen. Those kind of players are increasingly rare and Denard doesn't look built for it. He can be a good rotational back though, and maybe return kickoffs (no way would I trust him for punt returns though.)
As far as his development as an NFL RB goes, I would imagine it'll be more about improving blocking and receiving skills than anything else, but I do agree he can become faster in hitting the holes with time. He'll never be a short-yardage back and he's not ready for a 3rd down role either (until the blocking and pass-catching is there). Right now, he's a situational backup, which is a fine start.

Don't know or care what Taylor Mays' sexual preferences might be, but from what he has been showing on Hard Knocks, it seems like he hasn't matured very much since his bar mitzvah, despite what he claimed when he was back at USC and being touted as a super safety (maybe that's why he's so focused on those super powers.) http://www.jweekly.com/article/full/57937/49ers-select-jewish-safety-taylor-mays/

Wasn't there an old Countdown to Kickoff on MGoBlue that featured Roy Roundtree doing his Donald Duck impression?

the announcer saying that sounded somewhat weird to me. Cool. But weird.
