VERY experienced ORU Guard in portal

If what I've read is true, Michigan wants to go guard heavy like the Golden St Warriors. Could he be a big piece in that puzzle? It's still early for this news, and I haven't read where he is leaning toward going yet.

Wants to go to a team that will make him ready for the pros. Michigan is doing that with players now.

Interestingly, in my experience most Muslims are definitely more accepting of Christians than Christians are of Muslims. Most Muslims better understand and respect a Christian than an atheist. Jesus is the most quoted prophet in the Koran after all. But if we're talking about nation-states and politics and war, that's something different entirely for sure. But not the individual people

That’s because currently Christians are being prosecuted/oppressed (and slaughtered) across the Middle East. Ask a Copt or Chaldean (many of whom are in the Detroit area)

Edit: also keep in mind that Mohammed (PBUH) was born about 550 years after the crucifixion of Jesus.

lol, I always root against BYU as well. Always. They're probably #5 on my list.

I'm a former pastor current apostate, and I acknowledge I have a lot of bias. I have this conversation with other people who went to Christian universities like I did but who also have left the church. We judge others from those schools b/c we have our stereotype that of course could very much be wrong on an individual basis. I'm often looking at resumes for my work and it's hard for me to not have a bias against graduates from those schools. I read this post and my instinctual reaction, without knowing a damn thing about the kid, was that I didn't want him.

Why would he bother coming here? According to the podcast, the Sklar Brothers specifically, Michigan will be lucky to get more than ZERO digit wins this year. Oh unless we get a female to play for our men's team.

We need guards to especially ones that have a good chance of being good at this level. Llewellyn wasn't good prior to getting hurt so who knows how long it will take him to be competent and Burnett has not been good at 2 separate schools. We need a 4 & 5 too, but I wouldn't turn this kid down just because we have 4 guards on the roster.

I know that many posting here believe that not only is Juwan and this staff dreadfully ignorant about the game of basketball but that y'all know more than the staff knows. From my outside looking in perspective Reed and Kante are going to, as a whole, be an upgrade to Dickinson-maybe a significant one. The most critical attribute of a big in today's game is them being able to defend-and here Hunter, for all his offensive goodness, was virtually a zero.

There certainly are going to be challenges with the three top scorers leaving. However, if Khayat, Reed and Kante can defend the 4 and 5 well and provide enough rebounding and offense...it is simply crazy stupid to declare anything definitive about who and what this team will be next year.  Adding a scorer like Abmas and a maybe a serviceable 4/5 for (at least) some depth would seem to be a good thing.

This is college basketball. None of our lives are dependent upon this game for our well-being...if it is-heaven help you.

“If what I've read is true, Michigan wants to go guard heavy”

I’ve seen this elsewhere but where are you reading this? Seems quite the leap to go from no guards to guard heavy.

That quote interested me even more than the Abmas news.  I haven't seen or heard this at all.  Where is it coming from?

Abmas is an absolute baller, and we're not really in a position to turn away any quality players, especially guards.  I will admit, I am looking forward to returning a starting PG for the first time since Zavier Simpson.  Abmas and Dug likely couldn't play together.

He would be a one year rental which does not help continuity but that concept might not exist any more. Grad transfer status helpfully avoids admissions issues.

Michigan is a program that can get him ready for the NBA. But we are a lot better about getting guys one year away from being ready for the NBA.

Actual notable portal entries I think deserve a thread. This kid is definitely a notable entry even if I don’t think he fits.

Maybe you two don’t watch enough CBB to know who is notable??

Yeah, you gotta be a real expert to remember the kid no one would shut up about during the tournament two years ago. I know who he is. We all know who he is. Is there any indication he is interested in Michigan or that Michigan is interested in him? Not that I've seen. So what's the point? So people can make juvenile jokes about "oral" or argue about which religion is the most oppressive because of where he went to school?

The board already has maybe one interesting thread a day, and stupid stuff like this clutters the board and makes it harder to find anything worthwhile.
