Bonus personal note:
Don't want this devolving into a discussion about NIL/getting paid.
Sharing because it could potentially make someone's holiday.
Partake in the spirit it was intended, please.

We went to the JJ signing this past Saturday at MDen in Ann Arbor—it was great. Harbaugh and his dad showed up, too. Had a great time meeting JJ and he was so nice to my son (who idolizes him).

I wanted to. It was sold out.
Now I'm trying to do my part to make sure no one else misses out.

I was also there with my 7yr old. He loved it and JJ was great with him.

My son idolizes him also. He's 26 though. He's always dangerous in the sense that he has escapability, strong arm, field awareness, & Brady-like calmness under pressure. Considers it an opportunity to block downfield. JJ's real good too

I'm curious who sets these prices? Is it the players or someone else?
December 13th, 2022 at 10:17 PM ^
Probably the companies.

Horrible

That's what I thought. Maybe it's just me, but damn I kinda feel bad for Trente earning well below everyone else on the list.
Anyway, thanks for posting this. I wish I was in the area so I could go.

So I think this is really cool and I'm happy to see the players profiteering from autographs as they should but I'm not sure how I feel about only giving $10 for Trente Jones and then walking in the next line to pay $50 for Mike Morris. I think we all understand the individual impacts of certain players and their worth but I feel sort of bad for those players not deemed "top tier" as their peers. I'm sure they're cool with it and it's great to make a little cash but damn if it isn't a little awkward for young men who are likely being told how much they should charge for a signature.
Probably just me and my bleeding heart though...
Maybe Corum, Bell, and/or Edwards take some of the less expensive attendees out for a steak or something.

I agree to an extent. It's inherently the price we pay for NIL, and I much preferred when these sorts of events were free.
But we make the most of what we can, and making sure you convey support to players during the signings is a big step, in my opinion.

Not just you. I had the same thought as well (missed to see your comment before I posted something similar).
December 13th, 2022 at 10:40 PM ^
You actually posted your response first while I was typing a few thoughts up so I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.
I'm also sure to some degree these are suggested minimum amounts, especially for the players making less than their counterparts. So if you can spare it, maybe give Trente more than your average cost of a fast-food meal. Hope those attending make it a point to stop by as many players tables as possible.

Jones is profiting off Morris and Corum being there... $10 is the "while I'm here" price. Not many people are driving to an autograph signing to get the 6th OL to sign something. Glad they're including non-star players in this as well.

Does anyone know where I could get a photo of Sainristil knocking the ball out of the receiver's hands from the OSU game? I sent a message to a guy who posted photos here a couple days after the game, but he never replied. I'd love to get a poster size of that and pay Mikey some NIL$ to get it signed.

If you really want a poster-sized, you gotta print *now* and ask questions later.
Most FedEx's/Kinkos/equivalents on campus take days to print, and you need it by Saturday evening.
If you're a current student/have contacts, then the Media Center on North Campus might be able to help.
You could ask this guy.
Or here's the Free Press's picture, and, frankly, fuck the Free Press.
Maize N' Brew even re-used it.
Just food for thought/advice.

As long as it doesn't have a watermark on it, you can do a Google search. I usually do a search and then send it to Meijer printing in matte finish. I have never had an issue with them printing an 8x10 for me.

My daughter would likely pass out if she were to meet JJ. She’s really stepped up her Michigam fandom this season. Pretty sure she follows every player on Instagram and she only missed one home game this year because a school cheer event got in the way.
She’s working at Twelve Oaks on Saturday. Think I’ll surprise her with a few autograph tickets. Thanks for the heads up!
December 14th, 2022 at 3:06 PM ^
I think that's a lovely idea. You might want to coordinate with her, though, make sure she has time off/can take a break.
The Twelve Oaks signing DOES offer "VIP" tickets. You might want to get her one.

Does the hockey team do signing events? My daughters both play and would really enjoy meeting some of the players.
