As our country continues to become more and more divided each day. Let us make a vow to refrain from the bullshit on this site and continue to come together and enjoy Michigan athletics. Forget our beliefs and political ideologies for one second. We deal with the BS enough everywhere we go. We deserve a break. We are all wolverines and I love each and every one of you.

"Death is but a doorway, time is but a window... I'll be back!"

All four that you listed are the highlights of the movie, those are the only four! Though, I will say that I love the first few scenes of the movie (kids party & stroller going down the sidewalk and stopping in the intersection) only because I either live on that block or around the corner.

I never thought about the art::life implications of Ghostbusters 2 and 2020!  Vigo the Carpathian must not be trifled with.

The one which as worked for my wife & I is Beetlejuice.  Alex Baldwin & Geena Davis didn't know they had been in a fatal accident.  Instead, they were just confined to their home, scared to go outside, unknowing as to the surreal dystopian reality in which they were living.

Lol I mean we all have opinions, and feel very strongly about things going on right now. But can’t we just leave those opinions off this place? That basketball thread last night was so much fun. Everybody having a good time and actually enjoying something without being constantly reminded of how awful things are right now. If we must speak out, there are so many places to do that.

Well said!  This is the place we go to distract ourselves from the insanity. This is the place we all have the same thing in common, passion for Michigan athletics. We can disagree on the how to improve whatever topic (football mostly) but we all agree we have passion and that’s a really good thing. Much love my fellow mgobloggers who make me laugh everyday!

I agree with the general point and support the message to bond and enjoy Michigan athletics.

I generally agree that we don't need or want to use this site to stoke the divisive issues but not sure I want to forget my beliefs and political ideologies completely.  I reserve the right to call out BS and intolerance if any of that appears here.

I was not shitting on anyone or calling out the OP in any way.  I support the general message and appreciate it. I thought I was being respectful in my response. I just wanted to clarify that "forgetting beliefs" did not mean checking our principles at the door.  OP acknowledged that it probably could have been worded better.  But whatever.

I'm sorry, you can't just 'forget' certain ideologies.  There's a lot in the 'normal' spectrum of political differences that we can disagree about and be civil, but there are certain extreme views and actions that should never be tolerated in a society that prides itself on democracy, freedom, and equal protection under the law.  If you can 'forget' about life by going into sports, then count yourself lucky that you are in that position in life.

Right.

But regarding:

I'm sorry, you can't just 'forget' certain ideologies

Isn't the point to just not bring that shit here in the first place?

...and if someone does bring that shit here, scroll past and let the mods take care of it?

When everyone thinks they are their own board policeman, that's when it goes to shit.

I've been away for three fucking years from my last post because of how toxic things got. Nothing has fucking changed.  This site got more toxic.  FUCK.

@Chips, your OP was spot on.  Let's keep things in here all things Michigan.  There's certainly enough noise elsewhere on the interwebs if someone wants to find it.

And it's not an opinion on something like abortion or economic policy. RACISM IS NOT A POLITICAL ISSUE.  Racism towards our last President and racism encouraged by our current one has made it political. Failing to recognize this is a problem. Ask Germany. Ask Rwanda. I have no patience nor any inclination to forget or ignore people who support anyone who is promoting hatred.  The fucking arrogance of people on this site to dislike football coaches for how they handled sexual assault allegations with their players but support a President who has MULTIPLE women accusing him of sexual assault.  I see it here, I see it on Twitter...and for the life of me, I don't understand how so many "fans" can be addicted to a team/college with an overwhelming majority African Americans and have absolutely zero fucks to give about them when they aren't performing for you.

Can I assume you proactively speak out against capital punishment???  About war?

BTW, I'll let my friend who got raped in college because she had the audacity to go to a party in a public place know she was too fucking lazy to use birth control and that she slaughtered an innocent child.

Keep on hating though.

While I agree that rape and incest abortions are a topic that should be open to debate.  You are identifying one of the least common reasons for abortion in the US.  There are about 900,000 abortions per year in the US.

1. Fewer than 1% of all abortions take place because there has been rape or incest involved to create the pregnancy.

2. The number of abortions that occur in the United States based on the statistics because of rape or incest: 12,000.

I am against abortion and I am also against capital punishment.  It took me a while to come around on the capital punishment side but who are we to decide when to take a life?  Your point is a valid one that if I am prolife, then I should also be against capital punishment.

I hope that you will consider my point when you bring up rape as a reason to allow all abortions.  The next push back is always on a woman's right of choice.  I believe women (and men) have many choices prior to the choice of aborting a child.  Pregnancy is a consequence the choices people make when they have many preventative options to prevent it.  The baby should not be the one to pay the price for that choice.
