For everyone saying "but the recruitz...", this uni change will do absolutely nothing to move the needle for an 18 year old when you have schools like Oregon and Baylor giving you new hypebeast jerseys every week to flex with.

Going with blue pants is the laziest, most low hanging fruit change possible. There's no recruit whose thinking about going to Michigan so they can wear the most common color of pants in history.

Either you go all out and create a new jersey, or don't mess with the most iconic jersey in the sport. Just don't half-ass it like this

Meanwhile every all black jersey, even when black isn't a primary or secondary team color, gets lauded with applause.

Not to mention this board regularly hates on the times Michigan went all out and created a new alternate uniform, citing how awful they are and how Michigan should make no changes or only very subtle changes.

The get off my lawn crowd are not going to be happy. I like how the all navy makes the helmets stick out  and at least this time they won't have the stupid numbers.

My biggest concern is whether or not the recruits like them.  I don't care either way but with so many big time recruits here I am all for trying to make a uni splash because it does have some impact on 16, 17, 18 year olds

Love the jerseys, just not for tonight...

We should be wearing our traditional uniforms on primetime.  But if not, shouldn't we be wearing all maize like we did against Florida since it is a "Maize Out"?

What am I missing?

Also, one more question...why are we okay messing with home uniforms, but god forbid we ever switch up the always...

Again, I'm not a get off my lawn, I love all of our combinations and wish we used them all, every year (blue/maize, white/white, blue/blue, maize/maize, white/blue, white/maize).

I'd just think we break these out for a 3:30 game in late-October/early November where it gets dark earlier.

If it were up to me (and clear it is NOT)...

  • vs. WMU (blue/maize...traditional home to open, always)

  • vs. Washington (blue/maize...night game, primetime, go with tradition)

  • vs. NIU (blue/maize...not worth wasting the blue/blue)

  • vs. Rutgers (blue/maize...it's homecoming, duh)

  • @ Wisconsin (white/maize...already too much white in that stadium, let's stand out a little)

  • @ Nebraska (white/blue...nice contrast against red/white of Nebraska)

  • vs. Northwestern (blue/blue...hopefully a 3:30 game, but even if it's not, this would be a great choice this time of year)

  • @ MSU (white/maize...have to bring more maize to East Lansing)

  • vs. Indiana (blue/maize...keep it simple, stupid)

  • @ PSU (maize/maize...go bright against the white out)

  • @ Maryland (white/white..."new" traditional)

  • vs. OSU (blue/maize...traditional vs. OSU, always...EXCEPT, let OSU wear RED! And both teams where their home uniforms every year, like USC/UCLA and Utah/BYU...the contrast would be awesome!)
