College hockey has to have the biggest difference between announcer perception of audience, and the audience's actual knowledge of the sport and team. These guys are playing up a bunch of fluff - Duke brothers and 400 tickets, outdoor hockey, M-OSU hockey rivalry, anything but actual analysis of the teams and game. I think college hockey is niche enough that you can assume more of the people watching, and trust that they know more and could use more in-depth talk about the game. Of course, that would probably require the announcers to prep more than 15 minutes before the game starts.

Seems like the crappy (compared to the normal rinks) is messing with all the shots for both teams.
Seeing a lot of the shots hitting crossbars or sliding just wide makes me think the trajectories aren't clean because of the ice.
