Crushed Sparty last night. Now to do it again, see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

Sounds like Luke is a bit more into beating FYS than Dylan is.

Other games (CHN PWR): MN (6) 1, OSU 0, mid 1st. ND (13) @ WI (36).
MN-Duluth (7) @ Denver (3). WMU (4) @ St Cloud St (9). Quinnipiac (5) @ Clarkson (17).

Wish it wasn't right on top of an important basketball game. At least some people probably have to pick between which to attend.
UM-MSU hockey games in NHL arenas are capable of selling out and being absolutely electrict. Not close enough to know if they've come close to selling out the LCA yet (MSU being terrible is certainly a handicap) but it's a great event.
February 12th, 2022 at 6:32 PM ^
Yeah, wish they could have scheduled them not to overlap. Won't have as many hockey updates until b-ball is over.
February 12th, 2022 at 6:57 PM ^
I won't be there tonight. Watching basketball and DVR'ing hockey and hoping to catch up before the game is over. It is easier to stay in a hockey bubble than a basketball bubble. I'm not a huge fan of Duel in the D. Yost >>> Munn >>> Duel in the D.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:14 PM ^
Meh. Munn can have a good atmosphere when Michigan is there and it's a big game (and there was a stretch back in the day where Michigan just could not win there at all) but it's a pretty dull arena. And a good UM-MSU neutral game, when well sold and especially when both teams are good, has a great atmosphere.
Of course the "when both teams are good" clause hasn't been true in some time now.
February 12th, 2022 at 6:44 PM ^
Other game: MN 3, OSU 1, after one.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:07 PM ^
Gonna be a tough finish. We have OSU and Notre Dame left while Minnesota finishes with PSU and Wisconsin. Theyve gotta be the tentative favorite as of right now
February 12th, 2022 at 7:03 PM ^
Truthfully, that is one ugly trophy. Wish it was more classy
February 12th, 2022 at 7:07 PM ^
It can't be too classy - sometimes it goes to FYS
February 12th, 2022 at 7:08 PM ^
Wasn't it just the once?
February 12th, 2022 at 7:07 PM ^
Other game: MN 4, OSU 1, mid 2nd. C'mon, Buckeyes, get the split.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:11 PM ^
GOOOALLLLLLL! Samo!
Great individual play. 1-0
February 12th, 2022 at 7:11 PM ^
Mackie with the fire right away!
Lovely.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:19 PM ^
That goal was a hilarious mess.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:19 PM ^
GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!
Duke PPG!! 2-0 U-M!!
February 12th, 2022 at 7:20 PM ^
GOOOOALLLL! Duke with another dirty goal down front
Hughes basically created that himself. What a gifted skater
February 12th, 2022 at 7:20 PM ^
Wow. So a really pretty Luke Hughes transition play turns into a nice pass turns into a tumbling puck and a scramble and then a triple-deflection goal. Weird play that went from pretty to scrappy quickly.
And it's Duke with the goal.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:20 PM ^
We want MOAR goals!!
February 12th, 2022 at 7:21 PM ^
I think Michigan hockey and Michigan basketball have scored the same amount since the hockey game started.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:24 PM ^
Wow great play by Hughes to catch up and break up that omr for fys. Just takes the puck from him
February 12th, 2022 at 7:29 PM ^
Eh. That looked iffy. That was hip to hip come on
February 12th, 2022 at 7:31 PM ^
Agh. Moyle fans on the shot on a short handed breakaway
February 12th, 2022 at 7:31 PM ^
Oof. Nolan Moyle just whiffed on a shorthanded breakaway. That's...
Ok it was funny.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:32 PM ^
They're calling it "winged wheel nation" now?
February 12th, 2022 at 7:39 PM ^
Hughes makes it look like everyone else has lead skates. So quick for a guy his size
February 12th, 2022 at 7:42 PM ^
Krygier with the ol cross check to the back of Granos head and then a punch while he’s down.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:43 PM ^
4 on 4 for 2 minutes
February 12th, 2022 at 7:45 PM ^
Bullshit call. Why not call the 1st penalty on Sparty?
February 12th, 2022 at 7:47 PM ^
2-0 after 1. MSU leading in shots but that certainly doesnt tell the story of the game
February 12th, 2022 at 7:54 PM ^
Shots: U-M 11, FYS 12.
Other games: MN 4, OSU 1, mid 3rd. WMU 0, St Cloud St 0, early 2nd.
Quinnipiac 0, Clarkson 2, early 2nd.
February 12th, 2022 at 7:57 PM ^
UMD playing Denver tonight, too. UMD subbornly refused to do us a solid last night; our PWR lead over them is almost unassailable, so it would be in our interest for UMD to do well against Denver and SCSU.
February 12th, 2022 at 8:01 PM ^
Sheesh. MN 5, OSU 1, late 3rd.
February 12th, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
Be nice if OSU hockey decides not to show up next weekend, too.
February 12th, 2022 at 8:04 PM ^
Sigh. MBB didn't hit enough 3s tonight.
February 12th, 2022 at 8:06 PM ^
10 dunks but only 52 points. Never seen anything like that.
February 12th, 2022 at 8:06 PM ^
Osu made a lot of crap - we missed a lot of good looks. Super frustrating game. Refs did not help either - jobbed on our home court.
February 12th, 2022 at 8:32 PM ^
Exactly right. I was actually quite pleased with our play, we just missed a ton of good looks. I'll give OSU some credit for hitting a number of tough shots. Feels like we would win 7 out of 10 of those games. And yes, the refs were pretty terrible in that one, particularly in the second half. Apparently Liddel and Key can just bury shoulders into defenders but if you try to hold your ground you get called for a foul. Sorry, got sidetracked.
Let's go blue!
February 12th, 2022 at 8:06 PM ^
Wow, save, Portillo!
February 12th, 2022 at 8:07 PM ^
Another boring start to the 2nd. A little sloppy, not really many scoring chances for us
February 12th, 2022 at 8:08 PM ^
Until Hughes took it to the net.
February 12th, 2022 at 8:09 PM ^
Holy smokes luke. What a play. Brought that right down main street like everyone was standing still. Nearly put in our 3rd
February 12th, 2022 at 8:09 PM ^
Man. Hughes. Just accelerated in from the blue line and got a good shot.
