U-M Hockey vs MSU - Friday Open Thread

Submitted by I Bleed Maize N Blue on February 11th, 2022 at 6:28 PM

The cellar-dwelling Spartans are in town for the first game this weekend. Tomorrow night is the Duel in the D. We're without our top 4 scorers (who are facing off later tonight), but must still win all the points. OSU is 3 pts ahead of us in 1st place, though we have 2 games in hand. MN is 2 pts behind us, with the same # of GP.

Something I just saw of interest, the Big Ten website lists the standings and has OSU at 43 points and Michigan at 38. Every other major source lists OSU at 42 and Michigan at 39.

Other people probably know much more about this than I do... but isn't there some difference between how the conference treats overtime games, and how everyone else does

EDIT: Never mind, according to this site: https://collegehockeyinc.com/conferences/big-ten/standings22.php

Scoring across all conferences should be the same, and by those rules (below) OSU has 42 and UM has 39 points with 2 games in hand

3 - Regulation time win

2 - Overtime win

1 - Overtime loss

Just an FYI about Saturday's Duel in the D hockey game vs FYS:

Bally Sports Detroit will carry that game at 7pm.

When it comes to Michigan Hockey, you can't count on the BTN for anything.
