Tweet From Author of Athletic Article

Submitted by Mattinboots on October 19th, 2023 at 10:17 PM

Tweet (or whatever it’s called now) from author of the athletic article advertising for his article. This article is getting a lot of play because it originally said B10 provided “credible evidence” to MSU (now walked back to say B10 has been made aware of credible evidence) and because reference to “vast network” (I welcome my future t-shirt).  But this tweet screams hack job/clickbait. I thought the athletic was better than that.

Stated in the immortal comedic voice of Sam Kinison talking to MSU:

"Here ya go MSU, you might be worried right now that Michigan knows your signals.  Understandable, yes.  Well here's a little tidbit for you that might help you out some...CHANGE YOUR FUCKING SIGNALS!!!  AHHHH-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

I'm not ready to put BQ in the Rosenberg/Snyder pile just yet. The B1G did put out a statement which didn't seem to help matters much.

Either way, I'm cool with the boys having more motivation to bury Sparty and prove a point that they don't need to cheat to boat race teams.

The NCAA comprehensively forgot their time in grade school.  If Ryan Day and Greg Schiano are the source of the evidence, this has a strong scent of "He Who Smelt It, Dealt It"

Except the guy who fucked with Sandy Hook victims and is literally bankrupt and can’t discharge the $1.6B in debt to the families because his tort was willful and intentional…

Unfortunately more of this legal action may be required to get these “journalists” to actually practice journalism

Am I the only one that gets more worried the longer we go without a front pager from our fearless leader? I thought we had a pretty quick “this is dumb bullshit” with the nothing(cheese)burger.

I mean, that’s fair. Maybe they’ll have something tomorrow with full details about how/why it’s total BS and didn’t want to throw out a half baked argument. I’ll keep fingers crossed for that. Everything I’ve seen seems to suggest it’s dumb but then again the NCAA rules on virtually everything are dumb.

If this is an NCAA investigation of in-person advanced scouting of future opponents, why is it advising other schools of that investigation? That has nothing to do with whether Michigan is engaging in legally permitted sign-stealing without electronic eavesdropping or communication.

On what grounds is that competitive tip-off to not only Michigan State but the remaining schools on Michigan's schedule competitively legitimate? This notice enables them to use any challenge of play-calling or game result to imply cheating. The NCAA case is based on an unsupported allegation advanced by only two sources and yet the entire league is now aware of it along with every other program in the game.

They are likely telling those teams that Michigan may know their signs and they might want to change them.

I'm going to post this as nauseum since I haven't posted today on any of this because it's all a joke.  Real ppl not being fantastic realize this too.  But Sparty's statement of "not playing for reasons" should only be pictured next to Vernon Gholston doing the most dangerous thing possible in a football game while using the leverage a facemask presents on top of a player pinned to the ground.

I thought UM was giving up a few plays early in games and then adjusting to what was working?

That sounds like coaching to me.  Maybe other teams should try to adjust.

Or maybe the offense has to many different run variations and opposing coaches feel that it's unfair that they were ready for duo and the O have them windback it counter or threw the ball. Maybe the other teams were watching film from last year and wonder why Harbaugh is not just running the ball every play?

During Harbaughs 3 game suspension was he at opponents games? Maybe a random fan was wearing UM gear, so they must be scouting?

Get lost NCAA. Michigan has a phenomenal coaching staff and experienced team.

I can watch on TV and can predict what opposing teams are doing the majority of the time. Plus the fact you have game wreckers on the dline. It doesn't matter what other teams are trying to do.  It doesn't work for more then a few plays and they adjust.

Well what the fuck can the conference possibly have to tell MSU that Michigan might be cheating, but not credible enough to stop the supposed cheating?

It doesn't make sense that you know something wrong is happening, but can't act on it. You either know enough to stop it, or you don't and shut the fuck up until you know.

If the BigTen has in fact taken this to inform other programs and also sent this to the NCAA for action as motivated by the BigTen and NCAA.  It is time for Michigan to consider leaving the conference with intention!  There is nothing here for Michigan if this is the case by the conference!

Michigan is good at something, maybe too good, so let us warn you about how they prepare for you all future opponents …that seems extremely…off.

Why does UM keep eating shit from the Big Ten. Maybe ND is on to something with this independence thing, or we could join the PAC2 and dominate

My guess it is OSU who reported us to the B1G. They seem to have deep ties to the B1G and they're he B1G favorites to always win the conference. There must be some reason we have beaten OSU two season in a row. It must be sign stealing. LOL

NCAA -- definitely not tactics of a corrupt organization, which selectively applies its powers to further its agenda and its personal grievances.

Sorry, but people complaining about a news article about a legit news story are stupid. The conference says they have evidence and that's what he says. It'd be journalistic malpractice to hide the story and people would go nuts if they found out some State reporter sat on a story like this.

What the hell? I have heard from anonymous sources plus prominent Ohio state boards and MSU boards that we own all the media in this state. Where is that blue wall?

I’m beginning to question these historically highly accurate and well respected sources.

Let’s refrain on trashing Quinn, who is a longtime known friend and trusted agent since his days at MLive. He’s one of my favorite writers in the business and without a doubt one of the best. His coverage of Beilein’s teams was always must-read for me
