Tuesday night hoops: MBB vs Ohio St. 7pm, ESPN2

Tip-off moments away.  Would be great to keep this season's turnaround going with a W at home versus the buttholes from down south.

Espn 2...Dan Schulman and Jay Bilas on the call.

Crisler is so quiet. It’s embarrassing. I’m all for giving up home games to go to MSG. The stupid tea drinkers in the lower bowl need to have their tickets revoked.

Terrible call on that DDJ charge - would have been Wesson’s second. Game changing. Like to see franz attack the hoop, and johns appears to have come to play. All in all- feeling OK to be down only by 6.

Got the serious foul advantage. I retract my earlier comment. Abandon outside shooting and attack the rim - especially Franz. He’s a matchup issue currently with the spacing UM is creating. Plus he can actually shoot FTs...hopefully. Airballing 3s isn’t exactly encouraging.

So this season is a wash.  Not judging Howard positively or negatively since we are missing our most important player in Livers (yes, more important than Teske and X, as they have both been exposed after a year of being the main guys). Their issue isn't a Howard issue, their issue is they have very obvious holes in their game (Teske being so goddamn soft, and X not being able to shoot at all.)

Castleton is bad.  Davis is bad.  Nunez is a special type of bad.  Johns has really good potential, just still a little lost.  DDJ needs to figure it out on offense or he's basically useless.  Brooks is great at D, but can get colder than the dark side of the moon.  Wagner is a baby deer.  This team is nothing like what it will be next year.

And thank goodness it won’t be! This team couldn’t afford an injury to Livers because it forces everybody else into roles that they are uncomfortable with and/or can’t fulfill. X and Teske have definitely been exposed as guys who can’t hold their own when asked to be the number 1 options. X has plenty of good moments. But any smart team has just sagged completely off of him and said..go ahead buddy, launch it!

Teske going from a really good player last year to getting outplayed by every other center in the B1G is still the most surprising thing about the season.

Teske is so bad right now. Amazing since we figured he would take a jump

Leaves Wesson several times to “help” in no mans land. Gets pushed around in the post, can’t shoot and when he does he doesn’t follow

Disappointing from a senior.

Some of that was DDJ. He was busy pumping up the crowd and got pinned by the pick. He's gotta get over or under, or Teske has no choice but to sag. Pick and pop D always gets blamed on the big, but it's a two man operation. That said, he also had one where he just didn't close out far enough.
