Burrow is throwing for 80% on the season against a very hard schedule. This aint just luck or the product of a good offensive scheme. If you watch more LSU games youll see he reads defenses at an elite level and he makes as good of passes as any college QB in CFB history. Its just dime after dime with him
He didn't come out of no where either. He was a highly rated recruit who was stuck behind Haskins which is not a knock. Sure it took him a year to get going at LSU but its not expected for a QB to be able to perform at an elite level their first year starting

Burrow was the 280th-rated recruit in the country when he signed with OSU; he was fine but he also wasn't a can't miss prospect (he was ranked around Alex Mazone, for reference). And last year LSU ran a different system that was less QB friendly and it showed. So there definitely was a change and my argument is that you can't assume a guy goes from 58% to 80% because he matured as a player. He's absolutely been good this year, but the question isn't "do I think he's been good in college" it's "would you draft him #1" and on that I'm not sold one elite year is proof he'll be able to replicate a similar level of success in the pros. By comparison, I'm reasonably confident that Chase Young or one of the top offensive tackles (like Wirfs and Thomas) is more likely to be a hit.

I would take Burrow every time. That performance in that environment is legend. Hell, he deserves a medal just for transferring from that shit hole in Columbus.

Tua is left handed and just "feels" like a good college QB who looks awesome be ause of the talent around him.
Burrows passes my eye test.
Just a gut thing.

I don't think either of them are anywhere close to "can't miss". Both are amazing players, but they also clearly have some flaws on their resumes. Tua is an undersized guy with a history of ankle injuries, and Burrow's ascendance is just far too recent.
Don't get me wrong. I think both can be great QBs in the NFL. But Burrow was very mediocre last year and barely got on the field before that. He is having a phenomenal season, but you can't create a "can't miss" prospect out of 9 games of work. Sometimes guys look different from one year to the next.

Burrow. Not close.

Burrow.
you're playing with fire drafting a left handed quarterback.

I feel bad for the one that ends up with the Bengals.

Burrow. Tua is excellent on the long ball. Burrow has a fast release helps make him more effective overall, and probably gives him a better chance of staying healthy.

Joe burrow. Steve young, Scott Mitchell, and mark brunell are the only lefties i recall being solid in the pros. Maybe include Vick, but only because of his legs.

I think Burrow has a much better career. Tua reminds me of a Matt Leinart who peaked in college.

Burrow. Tua would scare me with 2 bad ankles. We all know how they work out in football.

I’d take young (sigh) but Burrow if I really needed a QB

How is this even a question after yesterday’s game!
