TTB: Updates on former Wolverines
I put together a rundown of 22 former Michigan players, commits, and signees who have continued their careers elsewhere. This includes people like Russell Bellomy, Shaun Crawford, Damien Harris, Kyle Bosch, etc. and information on their current locations and playing situations.

EDIT: MGoBlog broke my website. It was down from last night until this morning, but now it's back up and running.

I will never get over the fact that the previous coaching staff thought Bellomy was good enough to be our #2 guy. If we had Devin ready to take over for us in that '12 Nebraska game... well, we would have won that game, at least.

Yep...especially that they thought he was so good that we didn't need to recruit a quarterback in 2012.

I know it's trendy around here to blame Brady Hoke for everything, but Bellomy was a division 1 quarterback recruit. He wasn't a walk-on or a try-out player.
Bellomy shit his pants. He was so nervous he couldn't throw a swing pass without skipping it off the ground. I don't think that's Brady Hoke's fault, I think that's Russell Bellomy's fault.

I guess we're even with them now.

I don't think it was all nerves. I think he genuinely isn't very good at throwing a football.

I had buried the fact that we once had Damien Harris and George Campbell committed so far down that it was like it had never happened. Thanks for this :(
Edit: For anyone who cares, Ferns has also moved from LB to TE/H-back for the Mountaineers and is a beast. He's a true competitor and he certainly would have been on the field in some capacity for us this fall had he stuck around. Bosch on the other hand...not so much. Hearing he is the same softy down there that he was up here. Funny that we have two guys with completely opposite mindsets transfer to the same school.

I saw on ESPN the other day that he tore his ACL. I completely forgot about him until reading that

I believe Ferns was moved to TE.

Curious how Bosch received a waiver to play immediately, yet Ferns has to wait a year?
August 24th, 2015 at 10:35 AM ^
Probably something to do with him taking the year off of football last season.

Absolutely crazy reading some of those names. I did a double take when I saw Antonio Kinard--a Rich Rod-era commit still has TWO years of eligibility remaining?!
August 24th, 2015 at 11:13 AM ^
Yeah, I know. It probably helps him that he's two years older than his classmates.
August 24th, 2015 at 10:33 AM ^
Glad to hear the news on Bosch. Hopefully he is doing well.

Kaleb Ringer and Kellen Jones---yeesh talk about bouncing around all over the place for both of them.

Wow, this is horribly depressing. Thanks for putting it together though. Some of it was like a blast from the past. It will be interesting to keep track of some of these guys going forward.

When M landed Justice Hayes never imagined his 5th year would be spent at Southern Miss.

yea but what about Demar D- /consumed by a horde of spiders
August 24th, 2015 at 11:37 AM ^
I miss those two the most. They would have filled really nice spots in much needed areas to our D in the coming years.

Any updates on Conelius (not Cornelius) Jones? Shavod Beaver?
August 24th, 2015 at 11:45 AM ^
Conelius Jones fell off the radar. Beaver played at Midwestern State and then tried to make the NFL, but he was unsuccessful.

One thing about Chris Clark is that he's almost 20 years old as a true freshman. He could have just been a man among boys in HS.
August 24th, 2015 at 11:45 AM ^
I took my son on a tour of Bryant-Denney Stadium last month. They gave away leftover programs from the spring game. I flipped through and saw Damien Harris and DaShawn Hand and felt sad.

statement from Mora to Clark, especiall since he threw Rutgers and Community College in the same sentence. He seemed kind of flighty and I think would not have been a guy Harbaugh would appreciate.
August 24th, 2015 at 11:56 AM ^
I don't know. A tight end is a tight end... Harbaugh loves some tight ends. Maybe they wouldn't have meshed well, but talent can go a long way.
August 24th, 2015 at 12:55 PM ^
It would be understandable to miss being close to home. That LA Times story makes me glad our team is in the submarine. I like thinking the only drama is between Harbaugh and the media.
August 24th, 2015 at 1:40 PM ^
We seriously just added a program to our confernce that is uttered in the same breath as a community college. Unbelieveable.

Seriously, Michigan fans need to STFU about Rutgers until we start beating them regularly.
