Trey Townsend picks Arizona hoops
Oakland transfer Trey Townsend, the Horizon League player of the year, has committed to Arizona, he told ESPN.
Townsend was a breakout NCAA tournament star, helping No. 14 seed Oakland upset Kentucky, and scoring 30 points vs N.C. State.
He picked Arizona over OSU. The guy will be a big plus for Arizona.
OSU not taking Coach May (thankfully) and sticking with Diebler in this new NCAA world was a mistake.
He picked Arizona over OSU.
I will buy you a drink Trey.
I legitimately thought he was going to MSU early on but seems like a solid fit for Arizona. Excited for him.
Arizona owns Michigan in basketball. Arizona has had our number going back to 1995. The Fab Five almost even lost to UCLA in the second round on Arizona's floor. We need to break the cycle at some point.
OK. A bit of a weird take considering how infrequently they play and go head to head on recruits.
By the way, Michigan beat AZ in Dec 1996. So they have gone 3-1 in the last four.
We have won 1 out of the last 7, and most of them were completely lopsided blowouts.
Sure, but they have played once in the last nine years and three times since that Michigan win in 1996. It's not like Arizona is an ongoing problem for Michigan's basketball program.
I went to that game in LV. That wasn't a ton of fun.
Weird, maybe, but I can remember lot of painful losses to 'zona.

And they cheated, too! (Not sure how much under Olson, but obviously often under Sean Miller, who never once reached the Final Four with them in twelve years.)
Respectfully - I disagree. I’m very happy with the Bucks decision to hire Diebler
Similar thought: who says Dusty was interested?
Yup. Reports were that it was down to May and Diebler. They picked Diebler because he stopped the Chris Holtmann 17 game road losing bleeding streak ( and probably was cheaper).
Whether good luck or skill, Warde got this one right with May, and May has put together a good staff too.
BUT BUT BUT IZZO AND KAMPE 30 YEAR RELATIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Izzo's little brother some would say
MSU fans told me he was a lock to go to State because Izzo and Kampe are boys.
Somehow Izzo was forced to go to plan B
As the two douchbag GRIFTERS of buckeye scoop on YouTube, Kirk and Kenny, like to post ad nauseam, this decision by Trey was MASSIVE.
Good luck to him. Hopefully he's getting paid and he's going to a successful program. I don't know that I would describe Tucson as paradise but hey it's not Columbus or East Lansing.

I'm fine with it. From what I understand, he had a short visit here and we didn't want/couldn't match his price tag.
But too small to play center and from what it seems, posting up a 4-man in a black hole esque offense doesn't appear to align with May's philosophy. Much more intrigued with potentially 3 years of Walters and 2 years of Wolf at that spot.
