Transfering Baksetball Student Tickets Question

Submitted by Bambi on

I got season student basketball tickets this year and have claimed every game for this first claim period. Unfortunately something has come up and I won't be able to go to the exhibiton game on Friday. I want to give my ticket to a friend so they can go in my place, but I had two questions.

1) If I transfer a ticket to a friend, will I still get the credit for going when it comes time for tickets for the B1G Tourney and potentially Final Four tickets?

2) If I were to give my friend my M-Card, how strict are they with checking them to make sure it's the same person? Would they turn my friend down from the game if they say that their face did not match up with my picture?

Thanks in advance

I was a freshman during the 2013 Final Four year and I got student tickets for Atlanta. I believe that was based on games attended, aside from transferring tickets. In other words, your M-Card had to be scanned. And as long as its the same race and sex, you should be fine with the M-Card scanning.

As long as the transferred ticket is scanned you got credit in 2013.

My friend couldn't make it to a bunch of games so I always took different people. When we went down to Atlanta there were different priority groups based on how many games you went to and I was worried we would be in different groups since I went to all the games and he didn't. That was not the case though and we were put in the same group with high priority.

*Transferring

*Basketball

As far as I know, you can put any email address (doesn't have to be @umich.edu) when transferring a ticket and it will send a PDF file to that person. If someone brings a printed out piece of paper for a ticket, they don't seem to check for MCards and you still get the credit as long as that ticket gets scanned.

Again, this is what I remember from last year, others can weigh in.

Transferring the ticket as long as the person goes gets u the credit. They don't really look at the mcard especially if u kinda look like the person but I have heard them say that if they find somone with a fake mcard or someone else's mcard they will not let u enter so I wouldn't risk it

Email the ticket office, I'm sure they are more than willing to help. I however would not recommend giving your mcard to someone else. If caught I think it's against university policy and you could get in trouble for it (in theory). I don't know if it would happen but probably not worth the risk.
