ALSO had a season-ending injury, ALSO against Iowa. Indiana had three B10-caliber QBs on the roster last January (all three started multiple games for IU over the past two years), and two of them transferred. Counting those guys, IU's current QB would be 5th on the depth chart.

For 2006:

Michigan 27, Vanderbilt 7

Vanderbilt 24, Georgia 22

Georgia 37, Auburn 15

Auburn 27, Florida 17

So 2006 Michigan was 54 points "better" than 2006 Florida.

(And yes, that's entirely tongue in cheek. Don't make me add an /s.)

because the longer the transitive chain required to link one school to the other via wins, the more points accumulate. By this logic, Michigan is only 4 points better than Notre Dame via their common opponent Northwestern, but Notre Dame, Ohio is 273 points better after requiring a chain of 24 transitive wins to connect it to Notre Dame. I wonder if there is a way to put 2014 Michigan State up against 1904 Chicago?

A good example of why head to head is often overrated, like in the current TCU - Baylor debate. Head to head should be a tiebreaker all other things being mostly equal and that's it. Not to mention Baylor won by the slimmest of margins and it was a home game.

Ha that's funny. My wife actually got her master's from Dordt because it was insanely cheap and gave her an auto salary boost. I still use the lanyard she got me from there.

Love it. This is all made possible thanks to Indiana's win over Mizzou. The B1G's two marquee non-conference wins this season belong to Indiana and Northwestern.

Thanks, Indiana and Northwestern.
