There are...
...days until Jeremy Gallon (WR 2010-2013) sees the 2020 Michigan Wolverines start their season with plenty of excitement!

Here's to another #10 that should be mentioned every "There are..."
Can't think of any others...

was at that game with oldest son, who was 8 at the time. fun stuff.

That pick 6 was the loudest I had ever heard the stadium by quite a bit. I wasn’t able to get to UTL, which I’m sure surpassed it, but it was definitely the loudest up to that point at least in terms of the initial eruption of cheers.

Was at the game too. First Michigan game I went to.

This was my first game, and I was around that same age at the time. I got lucky considering the rest of this season!

After that game, Michigan was 2-2 and for a few days things were looking up for RR.
Then the wheels came off against Illinois and Toledo, and the grim nature of reality began to reveal itself.

The T-Shirt Countdown hits likely my favorite edition of the collection, fergodsakes:

I remember getting that shirt as a freshman and wearing it until it basically disintegrated over the years. Despite growing up as the child of two alums, the first time I had ever been in the stadium was the Western game and I remember it absolutely taking my breath away. It had been OBSCENELY hot and humid all welcome week and then the sky just opened up. People were dancing in the stands as it started raining. Such a joyful experience. Heck of a way to start out college.

The Story: 2011 is in many ways a Denard love-fest, and deservedly so...

Obligatory for fests of this variety for this person:
Enjoy reading and watching!

I feel like what this blog really needs is a "Where Are They Now" feature on Lloyd Brady.
October 14th, 2020 at 8:07 AM ^
Don’t know about Lloyd but Pat Stansik (the guitarist) was working for the UM athletic department as a videographer. He actually put a clip of me on the Instagram post from basketball selfie night. (Hope he wasn’t one of the staffers that was let go - nice guy).

"He's from Pahokee, which may not exist in five years and will never, ever have another kid commit to Michigan."
-- The Story, 2011
Ahh, yes... Statements from the past are bound to recycle themselves. Here's to hoping that the new version of Pahokee is as good as the old!

Denard to Gallon in one of the Under The Lights games against Notre Dame at the end of the game is one of my best Michigan memories.
October 14th, 2020 at 6:19 AM ^
Also, Don Criqui's response to how wide open Gallon was, was priceless - as well as his disbelief of Roy Roundtree's catch.

UTL1 was the last game I ever watched with my dad, though I didn't know it at the time. My parents were visiting to see my months old kid, and we tried to contain our 4th quarter excitement to avoid waking up the baby! To this day, it difficult to watch that game, or plays from it...

Sorry for your loss. Been without my Dad since 92 and my Mom since 2018. Memories are good for me, however.

Lost my dad 3 weeks ago (mom already gone)...sorry for your loss.
Also, for some reason Gallon is one of my all-time favs (I'm 44). Love that kid. Talked with him after many games. Pure guts that dude.

My sympathies on your loss. We all lose our parents at some point, and it doesn't matter how old anyone is - it hurts.

10!
Or, as we say in these parts, 14.

Really? I make a Big 10 / 14 member joke, and only 2 seem to notice it.
Yeah, I know it's bad form to ask for upvotes, but I don't care about the votes, except that it suggests no one got the joke. And IMHO it's a really goooood joke.

One of the all-time great receivers in Michigan football history and one of the all-time great receivers under 5'9" ever IMO

Jeremy Gallon was the best Michigan receiver of the 2010’s. Change my mind.

How incredible was Gallon his last year at M?!
I was sure he'd catch on with New England after they picked him in the 7th round.

Other #10s are Jeff Cohen, B.J. Dickey, Derek Howard and Greg Koss (both were in UM's architecture program at the same time I was), Todd Collins, and some guy named Brady.
