Thank you, Sacramento! Jaden Ivey falls in Pistons' lap.

Holy !$&#@!

Detroit's rebuild just got a lot more interesting!

Add Ayton, and this team makes the playoffs.

As someone who lives in Phoenix, the Suns fans out here would love for Ayton to go to Detroit.

Getting Duren  now too?

Other than being huge beasts, Duren and Ayton have pretty different games. Ayton can definitely get down low, but he's turning into a lethal shooter. Duren can't shoot right now.

Asking Duren to come in and be the big man they need, when he's 18 years old, is a huge ask. I still want to see Ayton on this team.

And I see no problem having a guy like Duren develop while Ayton starts- it's not a bad thing to have these two guys on the same team. The backcourt is in really good shape right now.

Everything umaz said - I live in Phx and a lot of Suns fans would gladly drive Ayton to Sky Harbor.

There's a lot of rumors about his work ethic and sleep habits that would make me very hesitant to pay him to play basketball.

Also, umaz and I clearly need to hang out and watch some football in a few months! :-D

This is just nuts. Not only is he such a high level player, but he was begging to be drafted by Detroit and wasn't shy about saying so. He wouldn't even work out for the Kings. He WANTS to be here.

Cade if such a multi talented floor leader, being able to add the fire that is Ivey is going to be so dynamic to watch! Add in Ayton who also CHOOSES to be here? We haven't been in this good of a position in a very long time. Plus the young bros who have all shown promise and desire - Bey, Steward, etc.

=======

And Hutch to Detroit Lions in the same year? It's never been this exciting to be a Detroit sports fan during terrible seasons than it has this year. Both teams are on a rocket rise.

I'm far less confident than you about either the Lions or the Pistons. I don't know if I agree Ivey is a franchise-changing player.  And please, don't spend money on Ayton. He's decent, but we can use our resources on someone even better. So I don't know. But man it would be nice to care at all about the Pistons again.

Lions have had consecutive excellent drafts. They have an excellent OL, a massively improved WR corps, and a young, but talented DL.

If Okudah can begin to live up to his draft status that defense suddenly becomes interesting. Okudah, Barnes, and Levi O are the key to that defense’s improvement. We know Aidan will bring it.

Lions are probably still a year away, but it’s a team with much promise.

Hey man, on paper that all sounds nice and I want to believe just as badly trust me.

But.. there was a time we had a young Stafford, one of the best receivers in football in Calvin Johnson, Ndamakong Suh, Golden Tate, Darius Slay, Reggie Bush... all on the same team.

I firmly believe Loins are gonna Loins.

I will happily admit if and when I am wrong though in a few years

Please don’t add Ayton! I want my Hawks to get him in that sign and trade. But yeah, Detroit’s future is looking really bright with the Ivey addition. Cade already looks like a superstar in 2-3 years.

Yeah, Morant was probably a better athlete than Ivey coming out of college and a better passer but Ivey is a better shooter and (in my opinion) has a higher ceiling defensively at this point in his career.  Morant improved this year on the defensive end but Ivey feels like a guy who could be a plus defender even as a rookie if he goes to the right team, and Detroit seems like a good landing spot in that respect.

Ivey was what Detroit needed and many speculated he could have been drafted even higher in any of the other prior drafts.  It was a no-brainer choice and while I do like the Morant comparisons, he doesn't need to be Ja Morant to be a solid pick.  He's taller than Morant, has 30 lbs over Morant, and will more than likely play defense much better even if he cannot compete with Morant athletically.

I love the pick, along with the defensive prowess of Duren to hopefully reignite a call to the days of the bad boys
