Taylor Lewan's new podcast "Bussin' with the Boys"

Submitted by thatguycharlie on June 13th, 2019 at 8:31 AM

The podcast can be found here: https://bussinwiththeboys.podbean.com or on iTunes, etc etc. I held off posting here, but after Episode # 004 I felt compelled to share. Basically, it's Taylor and his co-host Will Compton (Nebraska, Redskins, Titans) having a free flowing conversation with a guest. So far, they have had:

Delanie Walker
Rich Froning (crossfit dude)
Arthur Smith (Titans OC)

In Episode 004, though, it is just Taylor and Will. They talk a lot about the NCAA and their college experience. It is very much relevant to us as Michigan fans. He addresses his maturity, "the fight", recruiting, and much more. I feel like Taylor can be a touchy subject around here, but this particular podcast was very good in my opinion.

Does he discuss the Gibbons sexual assault incident and how he was a complete piece of shit during it? If so I might listen to hear what he has to say but if not I'll pass.

Well said MEZ, this is a darker part of UM history that is made worse by the complete and total lack of remorse from day 1.  There are boards of UM players we can celebrate but this will never be one.   He was a disgrace to the legacy of the university and I couldn’t give a shit about what he has to say.  OP may forgive him, not me.

The "Hey, man, we should do a podcast, it'll just be me and you talking about shit" idea is one of those bar conversations that should never, ever, actually lead to the said thing happening.

This isn't East Lansing. We don't turn a blind eye to sexual assault for the sake of sports.

Lewan is human waste.

I mean, he didn't sexually assault anyone, he allegedly threatened someone who was allegedly sexually assaulted.

But your point still stands, we don't celebrate ass-holery and douche-bagery just because you are good at football, like our tiny brothers to the northwest consistently do.

All this crapping on him on here is hilarious. Most of you refer to college athletes as “kids” yet when one of them does something wrong they’re all of the sudden adults and pieces of crap.

Drop the “kid” talk when talking about college athletes. When you’re 18, you’re a man. Time to act like one and be responsible for your decisions.

I don't think crapping on him is hilarious.  It's warranted.  He threatened to rape a rape victim.  This isn't really a funny matter.  He was old enough to know this was a piece of crap thing to do.

My question was a serious one. If he's discussing "maturity" on the podcast does he discuss his immaturity in that situation specifically? I'm willing to listen if he does, even if I end up disagreeing with it.

If he's discussing maturity without bringing it up then it's bullshit and I won't bother wasting my time.

All the Concern-poseurs here are nauseating, each one trying to outdo the next with proclamations of righteousness.  Mgoblog board used to be an informative, humorous and intelligent commenter forum but has since gradually devolved primarily into a broken record echo-chamber.   Mirrors most of the internet generally.  No where near as pleasant.  Sorry for the old man rant.

I didn't do much other than drop the take and leave, did I?  My bad on that.  Based on my limited perception of both, they act like overgrown frat boys.  Gronk's an absolute meat-head, and is proud of it, as shown by his post-Super Bowl comments (following LI, I think) and after.  He has a public persona built around it.

And then you've got Lewan.  Not even looking at his time here, you don't need to go much farther than his antics at the Predators game.

Until either of them has anything to say that would suggest something resembling maturity or personal growth, I'll change the channel.  That's how they're interchangeable to me.
