Survival Flight - Friendly UM/OSU Contest

Submitted by AFWolverine on

MGoBrethren/MGoSisters: the U of M Survival Flight team at the U of M Hospital are engaged in a friendly competition with their OSU counterparts. I know this board is good at going out and winning online competitions, so I thought I'd share this one with you. Thanks to a Buckeye friend of mine for leading me in from the dark side's link. I'm not savvy with adding links, so the Facebook address is below. The contest is the top pinned post. Loser wears the winning team's colors. Likes, comments, and shares are all added up, so do your best to stack it up! GO BLUE!

OSU subcontracts their helicopter flight service from (www.medflight.com). I think they subcontract the medical team (nurses and EMTs) on the flight as well. I flew with them for a few days as a part of a in internship when I was in college. UM leases 3 helicopters and has a service contract for maintenance and pilots. We train our own flight nurses and send physicians out on flights as well. I have also flown with Survival Flight. I would trust Survival Flight with my life in any circumstance. They are the best air medical team in the world! Another example of Michigan excellence! GO BLUE!

The annual Blood Battle is also going on for only a few more days .

I participated a few years ago and I try to participate as much as I can.

I know alot of people dont like needles. But how many of you are prepared to bleed for Michigan ?

This is a very worthy cause so please try to donate and at least spread the word.

LETS KICK OSU'S ASS!!!

Delighted to hear that your brother was helped.  One of my sons is an emergency medicine resident at U of M hospital.  He is periodically assigned to the survival flight team as part of his training.  Cool stuff, but also has a bit of risk attached to it.  Here is some more info about survival flight...the training that the medical personnel have is very extensive.

I don't feel like being friendly.  This is not a friendly event.  This is fuck the buckeyes time; the greatest rivalry in all sport.  Nothing friendly about it.

To the sweet innocent downvoters that are against all the bad language this week: you can have your fucking lollipops and kum-ba-ya the other 51 weeks of the year but not now.  I am as peaceful a person as you will find, but I also appreciate timeless passion, place, and clan.  You are missing out on something very special.  FUCK THE BUCKEYES!!!! This is all about great love.

Do you feel like being civil? Are you able to see that there are things that can be compared between the two institutions that have no reason to bring out hostility, like medical care for example.

I'm totally down with that for the other 51 weeks of the year.  Ironically to your perspective, this week's passion is exactly what allows for the civil competition the rest of the year.  This is fucking hate week.  It is timeless and definitively Ann Arbor.  Get on board; it is a lifetime ride.  It is special; it is love (even towards the Buckeyes).  End. Of. Story.
