Support the Team!

BE LOUD!!!  If something goes wrong, BE LOUDER!!!  Their home field has been such an advantage over the years, and there is no reason we can't make this harder for them.  DO NOT SELL YOUR TICKETS!  LAYER YOURSELF UP AND SHOW YOUR MAIZE AND BLUE!  But, if you can't go, do your best not to sell tickets to Buckeyes!  In fact, if you're a house around campus that sells parking, don't sell parking to them either.  Or hot dogs.  Or beers at tailgates.  Make them park in Detroit and walk to the game!  I'm not condoning their forms of hillbilly violence, but I'm all about making their experiences uncomfortable in the most civilized way possible.  Go Blue!!!

Seriously, who the fuck buys a ticket for this game just to turn around and sell it Buckeye fans?  If you don't wanna go, or can't go, keep the ticket or pass it along to a friend.  Or if there was ever a chance you didn't believe in the team so you sold, why the fuck would you buy a ticket in the first place?

I have zero sympathy to anybody who lets those assholes down south come and fill our stands with red.  I'd rather half the stadium be empty than 50% full of red shirts chanting their nonsense and making the Fuckeyes feel comfortable on the field.

Easy fella. The are tens of thousands of season ticket holders.   Sometimes life gets in the way. And not all life events can be scheduled. Unfortunately there is no was to dictate WHO gets the ticket when you sell them via Stub Hub, etc. And not everyone can pass up an opportunity to sell them for several hundred dollars each.

Note: I’m a season ticket holder for 40 years. Have always given my tix away when I couldn’t attend. But I get why someone may want to sell them.

I have not been to a game in Columbus, but I know enough people that have to believe that part of their homefield advantage is making the experience unpleasant for visitors.  The Big House has a reputation for being visitor friendly.

If I get to pick give me the Michigan standard.  I refuse to be shitty to someone because the pull for a different team then I do.  All you can do as a fan is cheer as loudly as possible and hope for the best.

Although I do think part of being an OSU fan includes just that.  When I get grief for wearing my Michigan gear it is almost always an Ohio State fan. (the other times its UT fans still pissed about Manning and Woodson).

For clarity.  I do not like them.  No I don't.

I think not selling tickets, beer, hot dogs or parking is firmly in the "awesome rivalry" camp and not going overboard.  They throw batteries at Michigan fan heads.  Comparing ourselves to the lowest of the low is of course stupid, because that wouldn't make all our fandom right.  But again, keep your tickets, hot dogs, parking, and beer, and be as loud as you can possibly be.  We all know we have the largest stadium, but I absolutely do not think we have the largest home field advantage.  Let's change that this Saturday.

Agreed. Fuck Ohio State and I hope their fans have a miserable time next Saturday.

I hate them. I hate their school. I hate their colors. I hate their mediocre media. I hate their students. I hate their overrated marching band. I hate their underachieving professors. I hate their coach. I hate their NFL players. I hate them.

I've been saying this for years: the Michigan athletic department is entirely justified in penalizing season ticket holders whose seats are occupied by OSU fans on game day. Penalties should at the minimum be assignment of lousier seats in the next season, and should extend to outright revocation of season ticket eligibility for repeat offenders.

I've worked myself into a worry over the buckeye ticket situation a few times this month. I try to remind myself that there's no way it will be as bad as it was in 2009 and 2019. This team has also handled tough environments in Madison, EL, and Happy Valley very admirably. It would be nice to have a similar homefield advantage as the Washington game but control what you can control...the shit that happens between the white lines.

Oh hell no. I survived November 16, 1968, Carr's last years, RR, BH, and 'I know one way to defense and that's how we're defensing.' No way I'm hanging around for a 10 win season.

Yes, it definitely sucks that OSU routinely invades Michigan Stadium in large numbers.

Ask around, though, and you'll find some middle-class holders of season tickets who can afford that indulgence partly because they can reliably sell that OSU ticket for big $ to a rabid hillbilly Ohioan (or two, or three ...). Full disclosure: That does not include me.

What are they missing? Lousy weather, maybe time away from the family on a holiday, and an ass-kicking of their team. Easy decision. It's too bad. Earlier in the season, it's also not easy to fill a 100K stadium when the opponent is Directional Midwestern State U.

Well the fact that you call people who're willing to travel far and spend a large sum of money to fanatically cheer for their team 'rabid hillbillies' while describing Michigan fandom as an 'indulgence'...I mean you couldn't sum up the cultural difference between Michigan fans and OSU fans (and most of the major powerhouse fanbases) any better.

I think it's an interesting psychological thing with this rivalry that Michigan fans are very willing to accept they care less for the rivalry and the team than their counterparts in scarlet and grey. In fact, it is used as evidence that Michigan fans are a superior breed. OSU fans are seen as base and vulgar, inferiors socially, economically etc.

I believe that this propagated cultural difference is actually a part of why we can't ever really beat OSU. You'd think after knocking Michigan around for most of two decades they'd have become cocky, somewhat blase about the thing, willing to take their foot off the gas here or there. But, no, because they know that Michigan considers itself to be better in every aspect off the football field, which they understandably loathe and resent, they'll never get tired of proving their superiority on the field. Michigan is basically permanently under their skin and in their heads even when they easily win the football battle most of the time, and it will stay that way regardless of what happens on the field.

Oh spare me this crap.

Go on 11 warriors and watch them all claim Ryan Day is going to make good on his classless promise to hang 100 on Michigan.

There are exceptions, but your average OSU fan is a classless asshole, but just like Sparty they've got to find some ridiculous DISRESPEKT angle to justify it.

I know some OK OSU fans, but the most vocal segment of their fanbase are a bunch of fuckheads, and it's not some ancient grudge that explains it, they just suck.

Need some fashion advice. Was planning on wearing my ski jacket but the problem is that it’s gray (grey?).

I do have a blue jacket but it’s more of a fall weight.

But the problem is that I was also going to wear my ski pants, which are black. The blue jacket with the black pants feels like a fashion faux pas.

Thoughts?

I've read and heard that many Michigan fans sell their OSU tickets to pretty much get back the money they paid for all the other tickets.

So many of our season ticket holders have figured out that they can basically go watch Michigan for free, as long as they sell their OSU tickets for a great price.

It seems that would be the main reason why there are usually so many OSU fans in the Big House for that game.
