Steve Lorenz Ballz Oliver Martin to Michigan

Lorenz' ballz are well respected. It looks like Michigan now wants Martin...and he wants Michigan. I would love to have this kid. He seems like a gamer.

I think he is plan B to Nico Collins. I know Collins more of an outside guy and Martin is a slot but I'm referring more to the final WR taken in this class. Either one is a good get.

Brian was speculating that it could be more a matter of planning to convert one of the other WRs to DB, so they would take both Martin and Collins at this point.

I think Brian was suggesting that they don't have another DB so they'll fill that slot with an extra WR. But a lot of people projected Hawkins in the secondary last year.

It seems weird though that they were recruiting him hard for a while then slowed, almost stopped for a long time. Now Georgia is in on Collins and they have picked things back up with Martin.

I'm not sure the renewed interest is attributable to one single factor. Yes, Georgia apparently gaining ground for Collins is one variable, but we've also missed on some targets that opened up some spots, and we just got a new co-OC who might be higher on him. The possibility of someone like Hawkins flipping to DB also should be considered.

is that scholarships aren't as tight as they were a couple of months ago. Rather than strictly apportioning them by position we can also take a couple of best players available. Martin qualifies as one of those.

Not exactly. McDoom, Johnson, and Crawford can all play slot. And with Hawkins, Black, and DPJ on the outside, both Collins and Martin are luxuries that would serve to make this WR core even more solid

but at one point Collins was considered the lockiest of near locks and it was presumed that Martin would've committed had the staff not expressed so much interest in Tarik Black. Now that both are on the cusp, would be a shame to not get at least 1.

That said, shaping up to be a hell of a WR haul if either commits.

Dude was undrafted and dealt with a TON of serious injuries. The fact that he carved out a functional rookie season was impressive. He was actually looking to have a pretty good upwards trajectory but he couldn't continue.

He comes off as a talented "grinder". Already has a solid build. Strength won't be a problem and he provides a nice frame and skill set for a slot reciever. Kid really impressed me in his one v one reps at the major camps. I think Harbaugh will really maximize this kid. He doesn't effect Nico at all in the grand scheme either should we still be fortunate enough to get him. Oliver is a definite take and he has a really bright future in Ann Arbor.

Oh my god we need him to put on his recruiters hat right now. Somebody tell Kurt if he can help close the deal, his spot is safe. I dont mind us adding Martin too but I really want the 6ft 5 guy named Nico Collins to close. As long as the play calling is good, we will be quite special in our passing game.

Real talk, If they are roommates, he potentially could spend more time with him than anyone else. Sounds like a great opportunity to get in his ear again. Would be a great get this late in the recruiting cycle. Especially because it would be taking a guy away from ND or MSU. RCMB has been drooling over him and praying he goes there. Would be a pretty big meltdown Harbaugh came in a swooped him up right in front of their faces.
